So I want to give myself a french manicure for my graduation, and I want it to look good. Also, I probably need to buy some nail polish or whatever, so if you know some nail products that work well, that would be great!

It's good at first, to soak your nails in warm soapy water for about seven minutes. Dry then put a clear coat of polish on them. There are three ways to give yourself a french manicure. One, you can go the cheap way and just polish the tip of your nails with some white polish. Easy, but not very professional. Second, you can buy one of those french manicure markers at a local beauty supply store or third, you can buy a french manicure set at a local beauty supply store, which has strips to put on and the sticky stuff too. My favorite is the marker because it is eraseable with remover, easy, and is right between the three in prices. Good luck!
The french manicure kit I use is by Broadway and it comes with stickers (which I don't use), white polish, an opaque polish, and top coat. I also like the kit by Kiss, but any kit you get from a drug store should work fine.

If you want to use the stickers, you would place them below where you want the white tip to be. You then paint on a thin coat of white for your tips. (I usually do 2 coats) When the white nail polish is dry, peel off the stickers. If you have a steady hand, I think it is easier to skip using the stickers and just paint on the white tips to follow the cure of your nail. You can use Q-tips with acetone or nail polish remove to clean up and mistakes.

When the white tips are dry and the stickers are removed, use the opaque polish (usually a ';natural'; color or pink) to apply a think coat. When that is dry, paint on the top coat. Let dry and ENJOY!

Good luck!
Okay, I suggest you go to the salon and get them done, I'm done mine at home vs. at the salon, and the salon usually turns out better. As for nail polish, since I don't know your skin tone, etc. a light tan (yeah, sounds ugly, but looks beautiful, and it's one of the new ';in'; things), or even a clear gloss would do wonders....

Hope I Helped!! And congrats on graduation whether it's middle, high-school or college lol=]
well i had the same problem. many friends of mine had a french manicure on. i wanted to have one to, but i didn't want to sound unaware of things so i checked out on the internet.

ok so i did wat it said.

all u need is to have a white nailpaint that'll cost u about a dollar or so. and a transparent or a light pink nailpaint. (that'll be a base coat) so put a sticker sorta thing taking care that the front part of your nail remains uncovered - that is the part from where the nail grows -from the front. so paint it with white. let it dry completely. when ur sure that it has dried up, apply a transparent coat on it( buh make sure u remove the sticker thing.) and u r done!!

hope i helped!!!!!!

hope my answer gets chosen as the best answer.
