Guys, do you like it when your woman gets a manicure and pedicure?

Does it make a difference to a man if his woman gets a manicure and pedicure done? I recently had my first pedicure done and it left me wondering whether men even notice or not.Guys, do you like it when your woman gets a manicure and pedicure?
If momma ain't happy, nobody ain't happy.

Translation: it can make a difference if she feels pampered. It changes the attitude.Guys, do you like it when your woman gets a manicure and pedicure?
hey.. it never hurts to look that much better
i prefer french tips on my woman. but doesnt really matter if the nails are done or not as long as they're not like mine... horrendous! ahahaha
Yes, i really do like the manicure/pedicured look,

Just not too bright or shiny.

Not long nails, just shaped in front of the fingertip, french tips are best.

Toenails look great in baby pink with faint glitter, opaque orange for beachwear.

Oh, we sure do notice, even though it isn't verbal, our eyes usually have so much to take in.
oh my god, yes people like me love that, it is incredibly sexy! if guys have a fetish for feet like mine, yes we will notice!
if women does anything that makes them happy then we have no problems what they did

It will last about 2 weeks and then start coming off. It is recommended that you go every 2 or 3 weeks to get it re-done :)

Have you ever been cut on the finger during a manicure?

And if so, were you worried about catching something? I went to get a manicure today and my finger was cut a little bit. The tools were soaking in some sort of alcohol or disinfectant solution, so should I be freaked out? The place looks very clean.Have you ever been cut on the finger during a manicure?
you should be ok...next time, bring your own tools and insist that they use them on you (and give them back, of course).Have you ever been cut on the finger during a manicure?
no. if they were soaked it should be fine. put some neosporine on it just to be safe. youll be fine. trust me!!!
I think you're gonna die.
no
i wouldnt be worried about it just make sure you keep your hands clean
Yes...and I was scared but I never got anything...just wash the cut with soap and water
I've been nicked with the cuticle scissors. When I got home I put a band-aid soaked with peroxide on it.
I was cut and immediately started peroxide treatment-pretty much applying peroxide whenever I thought about my finger. All was well in the end.

How can i make my nails grow to french manicure size in 10 days?

i need to make my nails grow so i can o a french manicure but i need my nails to grow that size in 10 days.HOW!!!!!!How can i make my nails grow to french manicure size in 10 days?
Jello can be found in any grocery store. Mix with water to make gelatin. I would start with a fresh clean manicure and tell the nail tech you want to keep your nails long and strong and ask what she recommends for nail growth.

    Try this little trick. Buy a large quantity of small nail files and some small bottles of hand lotion, a cuticle brush. cuticle or nail oil and as already suggested ';Sally Hansen Diamond Nail Hardener';

Place the small nail files every where you are frequent to be, at work, in every handbag, hobo bag or purse you own, in your car, at home, every room you spend the most time in, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, etc. Along with the hand lotion. As you use the Sally Hansen Growth polish, and your nails start to grow each day, if you feel a snag or rough edge, file (in one direction) the rough edge down, use the hand lotion frequently and use a cuticle stick and push back your cuticles and the cuticle brush to stimulate ne nail growth. Use gloves to garden or other hard tasks. Maybe even to drive or plastic ones to wash dishes. If the Sally Hansen product starts to wear off, replace it.

Eat jello, drink lots of milk and water to flush your body fluids. Use your favourite color polish if you like, but as a suiggestion make usre you start with a clear base coat, then at least two color coats and a top coat. You should notice a difference in a short time. Good luck. How can i make my nails grow to french manicure size in 10 days?

buy sallys hanson's hard as nails! it works amazing!!! i got it for $1.94 at target!!! you can get it at the grocery store! and its AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! love it and also drinking lots of milk and you can take vitamins! but it a clear nail polish and works wonderful!!!
Moisturise your cuticles and wear gloves at night in bed after you have moisturised. Jell-o is raw jelly, you can get sugar free!
Don't bite, cut, bend, break, snap, scratch, snag or do anything like that with them...

    Jell-o. Lots of it.
you can try those hand and nail creams that say they are going to take care of your nails.....you can just wait my nails grow long in a week!

What is the difference between a gel and glue manicure?

do they make the polish last longer? are they bad for your nails? What is the difference between a gel and glue manicure?
Use gel because glue rips of a pretective coat that is on ur nails

If the glue is glu dots then us those instead of gel

Please thoroughly explain what they do during a manicure/pedicure?

    Thanks :)

This would be great, as I am getting one tomorrow I think and need to know what I'm in for. I am a teenager if that helps, and I would like a design painted on my nails. My nails are in bad shape so that's why I am going in.Please thoroughly explain what they do during a manicure/pedicure?
I'm a nail technician, so for a manicure, they will sanitize your hands, shape them, soak your fingers, start with cleaning around the cuticles, make sure you want your cuticles snipped because if you don't, tell them. The more you snip your cuticles the more it will grow, they will also push them back, put cuticle oil, take away any dirt underneath the nails, polish the nail bed with a block buffer, and finally add the nail polish. Basically, the same goes for a pedicure, except they will scrub your foot with a foot buffer to take away any callus or excess skin. Before all that you should pick out a colour for nail polish, and if you want any designs such as stickers or jewellery studs..it usually costs more, and same goes for a french manicure. Your nails will look great afterwards!

Is it ok for a male to get a manicure and pedicure?

I know its looked down on by many men. But I do like my nails to look nice. lately I guess due to axiety I have bitten all of my nails and they look pretty bad. Sometimes I find myself bitting them and not even noticing at first. Are there any ways to stop bitting instead of the obvious answer just stop bitting them? Also I lately have been thinking if I do go to a nail shop to get my toes also done. No color or girly stuff just get them done and have them looking nice. I have no corns or anything but to me my nails look pretty bad. there no discoloration or anything just seriously need to be done. Should I been embarrased about getting them done? Also how much would a Pedicure and medicure cost together and seperate? Is it ok for a male to get a manicure and pedicure?
It sounds suspiciously sissy. Is it ok for a male to get a manicure and pedicure?
    r u gay?
yes be a man.men also do ballet.it wont minimise you and to hell with what others think or say.
Well, it's not wrong to do so. I love clean men. But, I wouldn't date or marry a guy who had manicures or pedicures. Like I said, I love clean men, but not metrosexuals.
i talked my finace into a pedicure. he loved it. It toes nail was so yuck and thick, He is from Texas and is not a gurly man.

They look neat and now i am not in danger of getting stabbed when he is baraefoot !lol
    sure if you're gay
defff ok, average manis are prolly 25 and pedis 35. and you should try bitter tasting polish omg you will stop trust me
i think manicures are fine, just so long as it's just a cleaning, any nail polish involved is crossing the straight line, pedicures are a different story, out of the question.
DUDE!!! There is NOTHING wrong with getting your manicure and pedicure..honestly..not all men..but a lot of men don't take care of there feet, and have some funky toes and nails..hey..at least you want them to look nice..don't you think the rich men do that too? Do you think they walk around with funky toes and nails? Of corse not!!! And so shouldn't you..if you have the cash..go for it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a man keeping himself groomed. Women do it too, why can't men?
unless u r too lazy or gay
ok go on its good to keep our body neat and clean
    Sure, whatever turns you on
men also like to have nice hands and feet its ok. pamper yourself but its not something you go bragging about.unless your gay
no, nothing wrong with men looking good. it's better than nasty nails. it shows you care about your appearance..which to a boss or a love interest..that is a good quality. go for it...look around, there may be a men's salon in your area where you'd be more comfy
without a doubt. it is one of life's simply pleasures. go for it.
Of course it's okay. I worked as a nail tech in college and I had several gentlemen who came in for manicures/pedicures. You want your hands and feet to look nice and you can't be expected to know how to do it yourself, right? Plus taking good care of yourself is good for you. Call and make an appointment for a slow time of day, usually Tuesdays or Mondays if the salon is open that day. Cost should be between 40.00 to 75.00 for both services. Some salons have men's packages that include facials, shaving, massages and other services, too.
No...iIknow lots of guys who get them done ,its totally normal, why should u feel embarassed for wanting to look good and polished...its attractive in a man...at least u take care of yourself...cost wise, it depends on were u go...dont go to a spa like Spa Utopia or anything(u will pay way to much)just go to a small place in your local mall or something....it'll cost aboy $25 each, but most have a deal for getting both done together...its worth it...have fun.
Whatever you like to do is ok I guess. As long as you really want to do it. Who cares what other people think? People can be wrong all at once and in one voice...why even bother with that?
    Go for it!
I'd say absoutely positively most certianly definetely get both a mani %26amp; pedi. I wish more mem cared about their groomimg that way. I usually do mine myself but if I had more time %26amp; $$$ I'd have mine done everyweek. TheBut ia'[j doi giel pros do a better job than I do,
People need ot get real. Just because you like to take care of yourself by no means means that you are gay. So I say...yeah defiantely go for it. Not only will it be more attractive but some women actually like men who show that they groom themselves properly. Oh and so you know getting a good pedicure is one of the best experiences you could have.
its ok.. u would love it !!..

    it has a nice feeling..

it doesnt mean ur gay..it shows u care 4 ur nail..n ur hygenic..

in my town.. my pedicure n medicure cost $9 - $15..

dey r great..i duno if tis price is cheap or not..
Don't know about the cost but they'll tell you over the phone. Personally, I think a man who gets manicures and especially pedicures, is the sexiest man alive!! Wow! @8=)
    I think it is fine
That is great it shows people that you take care of yourself. It all depends on where you go to get you mani and pedi done. Together around $45.oo.
dude, im a guy, and i get them once a month.. if anyone calls you gay for wanting a hot chick to massage your calve muscles and rub your feet, then they must not know what gay is all about, men, women, everyone wants to look nice, dont think about it, its nice, relaxing, and its just a good thing to do, you gotta take care of your feet.
    its ok
I don't know why you can't. I see men in the nail salons all of the time. If you enjoy it, have it done.
I dont think there is anything wrong with getting them done. My wife cuts my nails all the time, she likes doing it and it is one those things that women notice. So bent or straight, it doesn't matter good nails appeal to both sexes, so does good grooming for business meetings etc. Why the hell not, couldnt cost more than a $100 bucks...
yes go 4 it, it only means getting ur nails and toe nails prettied and fixed up, o big deal, dont let any sexist comments like ';u're not a man'; stop u
You bet!!! They feel great! There are salons for MEN that offer real services like this. Go for it!

What is the white oily pencil in the french Manicure kit?

I've received a French Manicure kit from a friend as a birthday gift. I have no Idea what that white oily pencil in the kit is used for. I would like to know how do I apply that on my nail?

ThanksWhat is the white oily pencil in the french Manicure kit?
    Bonjour,

The white pencil in your French manicure kit is the real French manicure , not a ligne of white paint on the tip of your nails.

Now.......after washing and drying your hands, while your nails are still humid, RUB THE PENCIL UNDER YOUR NAILS and tada, you have a French manicure ! ( I am French)What is the white oily pencil in the french Manicure kit?
It's for whitening the underside of you nail-tip. You wet it and run it under the nail (between your finger and the nail) It makes the nails look white.

  • Is it easy to give yourself a french manicure if you have the nail tip guides?

I just recently ordered a french manicure set, so i need to know what to expect. it comes with three colors, beige, white, and pink, nail file, nail clippers, and nail tip guides, along with instructions.

Let me know what is the best way to do this, or should i be in great shape. thanxIs it easy to give yourself a french manicure if you have the nail tip guides?
Giving yourself a french manicure is very easy. The nail tip guides are very thin curved stickers that you put on your nail where the nail bed and white part of you nail meet. After putting these on your nail, you apply the white polish on the tips. After the white is dry, peal off the strips and paint your whole nail either with the pink or beige. I personally perfer the beige, but it is all about prefrence.

Very easy to do! Good luck and I hope they turn out great! Is it easy to give yourself a french manicure if you have the nail tip guides?
I have tried and it is sooo much easier just to go have a manicure!
i think it is but it depends on the person...

How can you give yourself a good manicure?

can someone give me some tips on cool nail designs without buying a kit?How can you give yourself a good manicure?
You could give yourself a french manicure (paint the white bits of your nails white and the pink bits pink). If you have a steady hand you could try stripes and spots. If you are very good at painting nails then paint flowers on them. If you aren't very stable then paint your nails bright colours, maybe alternate nails different colours e.g. red, blue, red, blue. You could also try painting a union jack on your nails, it looks really good. How can you give yourself a good manicure?
A flower, colorful tip, or paint the nail a color with another color as a tip.
stripes and polka dots are easy

use s toothpick for polka dots and other small things
roses or lilies or hearts any r good even stars

Can you use hydrogen peroxide to clean manicure tools?

If you don't have an autoclave, UV sterilizing machine or other expensive machines, is there an alternative solution for disinfecting /sterilizing tools using bleach or vinegar? Can you use hydrogen peroxide to clean manicure tools?
There are commercial disinfectant solutions that can be used in lieu of autoclaving. If you're a professional, you should already be aware of this and should look into it. Ordinary household bleach works, too. Soak for at least 10 minutes after cleaning and scrubbing the equipment in a soapy solution, then rinsing. Can you use hydrogen peroxide to clean manicure tools?
    why not use alcohol?
yes it is very safe to use and recommended by a lot of people :)

It's called a reverse french manicure sometimes. I know that sounds like it would be white beds with pink tips, but most places understand that this means white and black :)

What terms should I use to describe the length I want on my manicure?

I'm going in this afternoon for a manicure and I usually don't wear ';fake'; nails, so I have NO idea what to tell the manicurist about the length I want to achieve. Do they have sample nails to look at? I plan on getting Solar Nails (which is something I've worn once before.) Are they still a popular option? Its been 5 years since I've had them.

Thanks!!!What terms should I use to describe the length I want on my manicure?
I would use your finger to point out on a different nail the length that you want. Or if the person doing the manicure has the close to the desired length then use that as a comparison. If you are adding fake nails then you can always have them a little longer and then ask them to make then shorter.

Why do girls always stare at my nails when i get a french manicure?

not fake nails. and they're done professionally with the brush and acetone for french manicures. lolWhy do girls always stare at my nails when i get a french manicure?
because you're a manWhy do girls always stare at my nails when i get a french manicure?
    Because they're haters :)

Or maybe because you have such perfect nails like the other person mention . :)
if it is a french manicure on your real nails, they are probably jealous that you have really nice natural nails that can take a french manicure. i get that a lot. i was having my nails done for my brother's wedding and the girl doing my french manicure dragged me around the store showing people my nice nails....she said that people like you and I have the type of nails that most women pay to have theirs look like.
    Because they're pretty.
cause they are cute and probably because they dont have them!!!!!
because they can't believe you have perfect enough nails to do a french manicure without fake nails, you don't see those very often. :))

How can I convince my mom to let me get a french manicure.?

I really want one and she says Im to young and I bought the nail polish and everything......I need this answered by tonight so i can ask her tomorrowHow can I convince my mom to let me get a french manicure.?
Soo... your mom will let you log onto a site to ask strangers all around the world this question???...but say your not old enough to paint your nails? hmmm odd on her part. But if you want your nails painted.. i would just tell her that you are not a baby anymore and you wish she would treat you more like your age? But in a nice mom 2 daughter talk.... and then go from thereHow can I convince my mom to let me get a french manicure.?
If she feels you're too young there isn't anything you can say to her to change her mind. And if you run off and do it behind her back you'll just prove to her that you are indeed too young/irresponsible too paint your nails.

Maybe she would compromise and let you do your toe nails since not everyone sees your toes. Or maybe she might allow you to paint them just for the weekend as long as you remove the polish before school. If she won't let you do your toes offer to paint her nails. xD
If you are allowed to paint your nails yourself then you can buy little white strips to help you make the ';line'; so you paint the whole nail with the base pink tone and wait for it to dry, then but the sticker guides on and paint the bottom white.

As for you mom, I not sure how old you are but im guessing around 12ish so I would explain that it is just nail polish and it comes off and all your friends wear it, and that a french manicure looks the most natural its not too obvious. Tell her Im sure there were things that her girlfriends got to do when she was young and this is one of those things! Good luck!
does she let you paint you nails with regular colors? If so its the same just with white and light pink polish?. But anyway, if she won't let you go and get it done do it yourself. You can go and get white stick on thinks that help you to make the tips. Its really cheap too. I don't know why you wouldn't be allowed.
If your doing it yourself then it should be ok just tell her ur getting older and its just nail polish it comes off tell her not to worry lol

    Hope this helps...

Ok just try your best to be good and i know its not good to be a suck up but you have to be a suck up. And if possible clean stuff and give your mom a break and trust me she'll cave and let you get one
just be like mom we can make this is a mother daughter bonding and kinda laugh about it... and be like ill do your nails if you let me do mine.. and just making something fun to do with you and your mom
Tell her either she lets you get a manicure professionally or you'll ahve your girlfriend to do it. That'll make her reconsider.
yah you can do it on your own

or just say it can be a part of one of your birthday gifts.
Your mom wont let you get a french manicure? Isn't that a bit controlling i mean its not like your going to wear some whoreish red color or something......
It depends on if you're just painting it.. for putting on fake nails. Fake nails aren't good for your nails, but once in a while is fine.
.. its only nailpolish. tell her youll put it on, see if she likes it and if she doesnt then youll take it off.

ps, ive been getting them since i was 12.. so shes being hella unreasonable
i dont really have an answer to your question, but why does she think youre too young? haha i didnt know there was an age requirement
Why is she bothered about a french manicure? It's only nail varnish! It's not like your after a tattoo.
I dont see what the big deal is its not like you're getting acrilic nails put on.
you cant be too young to get a frenchy..lol. but if you do it, she cant do anything about it.
Woah why won't your mom let you do your nails? Strange. I never had to ask my mom to do my nails... that's just odd.
    too young?......
just do it yourself in your room...and try and hide it from her
tell her its just nails its not like your asking for a piercing or somethin

Can i get a french manicure that isnt rounded?

I've seen people with frenchmanicures and the white part goes straight across in a straight line on the part closest to the cuticle. However, when i go to my manicurest I only see the nails tips that are curved like the natural curve of the nail bed and she shapes the END of the nail square......is there a certain name for this type of manicaue that i can ask for next time???? also, anyone have pics of that? Can i get a french manicure that isnt rounded?
Its called a Traditional French Manicure, or that is what I think it is called. I don't do them, but I think I know what you are looking for..

Just explain to the manicurist that you want a straight line, and NOT a smile line. If needed, draw it out on a piece of paper. Or, using a pencil, draw the straight line on your nail right in the place that you want the line to end, make sense to you? Don't worry, the pencil marks come off easily enough. But it will get idea across to her.

You are having a problem with this because it is most common to do a nail which looks much like the the pic in the second link. This is what I normally do when you ask for a French Manicure. This pic shows what I do when a customer asks for a French Manicure. I've never been asked to make the smile line straight, and not 'rounded.' But to each their own, right! Here are the links. I hope they help.

But is that the basic idea of the type of 'straight' line you are looking for (forget the rest of the picture, just look at the line itself. It that what you wanted?).

    Pic #2

    http://skincare.lovetoknow.com/images/Sk鈥?/a>

This one shows how I personally would create an acrylic Forever French full set - long, and elegant, with square tips, and a rounded ';smile line.'; Truly beautiful nails!

Now if I am understanding you correctly, you want a combination, sort of. So take the straight line from the first pic, and put it on the nail with the square tip from the second tip, and tada!!! Or, no?

Am I just confusing you? Or are you just confusing me?

Either way, I tried to help you out the best I could!

If all else fails, here is a link to an easy to understand tutorial on DIY home nails. I am assuming this whole time that you want the french manicure done using polish, and not acrylic, or gel, right? If not, then it was a waste of time for me, oh well.

http://beauty.about.com/od/perfectnails/鈥?/a>Can i get a french manicure that isnt rounded?
you can draw a picture of what you want. I think every manicurest has their own style so if you want something different then ask. acrylic nails can be shaped many different ways. I don't know of any special style names. If you see a picture in a magazine then clip it out and bring it with you.
It's usually rounded because they cut your nails making them too short to not be round. So grow your nails out and ask them to file them squarely, not round. I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say but just tell her that you DON'T want what you described to us, but you still want it square, and I'm sure you'll get something you like.

What is the normal cost for a girl to get a manicure and pedicure? What can I expect to pay to have it done?

for her? Also, what is the maximum cost girls normally pay for this? ThanksWhat is the normal cost for a girl to get a manicure and pedicure? What can I expect to pay to have it done?
A mani or pedi by themselves are usually $20-$25, unless you go to a high-end fancy place. If you get both, it will obviously be somewhere between $40 and $50. You will also need to tip the person who does it for you, assuming they aren't a jerk. Usually I tip about $5. I usually don't pay past $55. Also, be careful with manicures. If you get fake tips, they ruin your nails for a long time unless you keep getting it redone. What is the normal cost for a girl to get a manicure and pedicure? What can I expect to pay to have it done?
Lowest prices that I have seen...manicure $10, pedicure $18. If you want french, then it costs more. I probably wouldn't pay more than $30 for a pedicure and $18 for a manicure.
Depends some places a mani and pedi are like 30 for both others its like 50 where I go it is 30 for both!
    $20

Target has a pretty big selection of those kits,, ranging from around $3-$10. I have bought a couple differnt ones they sell. I suggest NOT buying one thats less than 5 dollars, b/c it will be kinda junky. But, its totally up to you. Good Luck :]Where are some good places that I can buy a manicure kit?
Almost any department, drug, big box stores. You can buy the implements separately %26amp; make your own kit or buy the kits.

Do you chat with the esthetician while you get your manicure/pedicure?

When you get a manicure or pedicure, do you chat with the esthetician (person who does the procedure)? Or do you stay quiet?Do you chat with the esthetician while you get your manicure/pedicure?
Lots of times these days they are asian and you don't understand them anyway!

Relax you don't need to chat you should be relaxing, sometimes they aren't allowed to talk because it interrups the relaxing. Every salon is different, follow their lead, and you won't appear rude

reviveu2Do you chat with the esthetician while you get your manicure/pedicure?
estheticians cant perform mani/pedis.. these are nail techs, estys work with skin, hair removal, and make up... Although an esty can work with the skin on nails and feet, they can not work with the nials

you should definatly chat, if you don't than your manicure will be soo boring. just talk about random stuff, these people have heard the weirdest and most boring stories ever, and there is no way that you could ever be as boring or weird as some of those people, so relax and have fun!
i am quite a shy person with people i dont know, so most of the time, i am quiet, as i cant think of anything to say. it ends up being somthing like..

'have you got any plans for the weekend'

'ye, just hang with my friends probally u?'

    'same'

and that is more or less it!!
Er...Esthetician don't do Manicures and Pedicures...It's the nail techs that do...And yes, I do, I like to chat with them, mostly because I know them.
I stay quiet b/c most don't understand English too well or carry on conversations w/ other people in another language
    No, I am quiet.
I don't chat at all. I like to relax and read the gossip magazines.
yes i do chat i jus cannot keep my mouth shut for that long y do u ask?

  • How much does french manicure cost?

I want to get nails of my hands as well as feet done. not fancy but simple french manicure. how much would that cost? How much does french manicure cost?
It is depended on where you live and how populated are nail salons in certain areas. If you live in an area with more population of nail salons, you likely to get a french manicure about $10-$15 this is with a manicure too..(since you say french MANICURE) with french no manicure it's about $6-$8. Now, if you are in a smaller, less populated area a french manicure would cost $15-$20. French (without Manicure) is $5-$8.

    IN MOST PLACES:

Most french tips painted or airbrushed on are an extra charge... $3 to $5...MANICURE $12 to $15.

Hope that helped you any...How much does french manicure cost?
It really depends on where you live and what manicurist you go to. Be careful where you go though.. make sure they are cleaning the pedicure bowls %26amp; instruments are disinfected. You could catch all kinds of nasty things if you go to a business that is not reputable.

My sis charges $30 for a pedicure and $15 for a manicure

I think most places charge an extra $3 to $5 for french manicures.
Most nail places that I have gone to charge $10 for a manicure and about $20 for a pedicure, give or take a few dollars. But if you want a french tip they usually charge a few dollars more. Its not terribly expensive.

Is it normal to feel pain after a french manicure?

Well 2day I got my first french manicure.I did a full set with pink and white. But my question is, is it normal that my fingers hurt? Should I be worried? Is it normal to feel pain after a french manicure?
Uh, no, ma'am, it's not. U probably had an unskilled or rough tech on ur hands (pun intended). They might have filed too much or something. But, no u should not feel pain from a french manicure. Is it normal to feel pain after a french manicure?
I am assuming you got acrylics, if this is the case they shouldn't hurt. I get them done all the time. I wouldn't try to take them out since that will make them hurt more, but do observe to see if you have any signs of infection in the next couple of days to make sure it's ok. Hopefully, the pain will go away, and please don't go back to the same technician
no..your fingers should not hurt!!...you are very sensitive to whatever product they used...

if you have nail polish remover..remove the nails ( are they artificial ?)..or whatever product they used on your nails.

    then moisturize you own nails....
No they are not supposed to hurt, deffinatly use a different nail tech. I just had to take mine off because of a bad tech. I was SOOO mad....guess that is what I get for trying a place $10 bucks cheaper....gezz!!
i dont think its normal, maybe they were too rough with your fingers
Um yeah. Your fingers supposed to hurt, you didn't undergo surgery, did you. You probably went to a bad nail technician, a lot of them do sloppy work. Don't worry, your nail won't fall off. Next time, when your going to get a fill-in, have someone recommend you a technician.

Well, I LOVE OPI too :) I'm not really sure what shade for a french manicure, I use ESSIE for that. But I would totally recommend one of OPI's 'suede' colors, and don't put a topcoat on. It almost looks like steel! Hope I helped!
I like bubble bath for the nails and alpine snow for the tips.

I would say $2 and up depending on how much the mani/pedi costs and how good of a job the person did. It totally depends on you. I've tipped $10 before because the person did a great job. If you have more than one person working on you, then you have to assess who did the majority of the work and split the tip accordingly.

How much do you tip for a manicure? And how long did yours last? What kind were they?

I'm going to get my nails done for the first time tomorrow, and I'm not really sure what I should get. I want the kind that lay on top, as my nails are shorter and brittle, but I dont know if I want the kind with the white tips on them or airbrushing, and how long to expect it to last, or how much to tip. Thanks!!!How much do you tip for a manicure? And how long did yours last? What kind were they?
OK white tips (I think) are better than airbrush, because the white airbrush chips with time. They both last the same amount of time on your nails. They should last for about 2 weeks they will grow out on your nail and there will be a space between your fake nail and your finger and you can get it filled in for half the cost of the manicure (usually). As for tip, they are doing you a service so you should pay 15% of the bill just like in a restaurant. Have fun!!!How much do you tip for a manicure? And how long did yours last? What kind were they?
I get the white tip, that's the one I like and they last about a month if I take good care of them and u can always go get a refill if they start looking ugly I tip them $5-$10 depending on how much I like them
I usually get the pink and white and I get them filled every two weeks. I tip from $5-$10.

What can you use to make your manicure last longer?

Everytime i paint my nails. only a few days and theyre nearly completely ruined. :/ after the first day at least a couple are already chipping at the edges. i do a double coat of nail polish. i use sally nail polish. anyway, are there any products to make it last longer? and where can i get them? thank you. :) What can you use to make your manicure last longer?
Use your hands more. What can you use to make your manicure last longer?
the coats have to be very thin. If the nail polish is pasty, you either have to throw it out or add some thinning substance that you get at drug stores. The cheapest nail polishes are the best, they're the thinnest.
use china glaze. it lasts long. base it with a clear coat and put a clear coat on top too.

i actually use scotch tape, i find its less expensive, covers the entire nail so you cant get any paint on it and it doesn't let any paint leak through. i also know tey sell them at beauty supply stores for pretty cheap. best of luck.

When you make a mistake, rip out a peice of a cotton and put it on a toothpick. Then dip it in nail polish remover and use that to clean up the messes. This way, it is easier to get the shape that you want.

Also, start from the sides and make a ';half moon'; if you have a curvy nail, but if it is straight, just start from the top. Please share tips for doing a perfect french manicure at home?
you can get the nail strips and place them where your nail grows over the tip of your finger so you don't go over that line.
its good to grow your nails a little bit longer..because its good to french tip when you have a longer nails, its easy to put on the manicure...
the way that I do it is I get the glue stips to put on the fake nails with because my nails are longer that them I put them on my nail and put the curved part on the top and that is how I get the perfect french manicure because the glue strips have a purfect curve on them for it and after it dries then I do the rest of it and put a clear coat over it I hope that this helps you out

How do I give myself a decent manicure?

I have tried to paint my nails...but in the end it is messy looking.

I read books and articles on the internet about how-to do a manicure.

    It doesn't work for me!!!

I know i'm supposed to wash my hands, push cuticles back etc.

Then paint base coat and then 2 layers color and top coat.

Do u have any tips for me?How do I give myself a decent manicure?
how to get the best manicure? Try doing your nails an hour or two before bedtime. Take a hot shower in the morning. The steam will cause the nailpolish on your cuticles and fingers glide right off. Because you used a topcoat the nailpolish on fingernail itself will stay. This in turn makes nails look perfect for any occasion. How do I give myself a decent manicure?
save up $20.00 and have them done
ofcourse i have great tips 4 u! k do this:

    1. The first thing to is to exfoliate your hands. To do this, use a mixture of salt and hand soap or a commercial exfoliant hand lotion. Wash and dry hands.

    2. Next, moisturize using hand cream or even a little olive oil. Let cream or oil sit for a few minutes and then wipe off excess.

    3. Soak your fingers in a bowl of warm water to soak and soften the cuticles. Do not soak for too long as they will become too soft. You may also opt for simply using a cuticle softener and skip the soaking process.

    4. Next, gently push back the cuticles using a cuticle stick. Do not cut them. If you have hangnails, cut them carefully with nail scissors or cutters.

    5. Follow this with a shaping of the nails using a double-sided emery board, and shape them depending on your personal preference. Filing them in an oval shape is generally the most preferred. Make sure you file in one direction to avoid rough edges.

    6. Shine the nails with a buffer. Most often these have three different parts--follow the package鈥檚 instructions on how to use the different sides and in what order.

    7. Next you鈥檒l want to make sure the nails are free of any old polish. Use a polish remover and cotton balls or a q-tip dipped in remover. Be sure to remove all traces of polish.

    8. Apply a thin clear base coat. This will help protect the nails and allow for longer polish wear.

    9. Once this is completely dry, choose your polish color. Dip the brush into the bottle and pick up only a small amount. Beginning at the bottom of your nail, paint one upward stroke to the top of your nail, gently flattening the brush against your nail to spread the color. Then, do the same stroke on either side of the first stroke, thus completing the nail鈥檚 coloring in three strokes. Move on to the next finger and continue until both hands are done. Allow this coat to dry and then apply a second coat if desired.

    10. Once the second coat is dry, apply a top coat shine. These are generally quick drying, although you should be careful for the next 30 minutes to avoid easy dents or chipping before all the layers set.

How long does your nails have to be to get a profession french manicure done?

and how much is it .. i wanna get my real nails done not that fake crap no offenceHow long does your nails have to be to get a profession french manicure done?
Where I live, a painted on french manicure would cost about $15.

They don't need to be any particular length, except to be long enough that the nail technician can file the ends smooth. How long does your nails have to be to get a profession french manicure done?
You can have a French Manicure on natural nails, you do not have to have ';fake'; ones!

To look nice your nails should be at least as long as your fingertips-if possible about 1/8 inch longer, at the least. That will give you a pretty strip of white along the edge.

The cost depends on what type of shop and in which part of the country. I have paid as little as 12 dollars in a small town and as much as 30 in a city.

Make sure you leave a nice tip-French manicures are difficult!
well if you dont want acrylics, than you have to have enough nail so they can paint the white tip on. they trim them and file them too... so i would wait for them to grow a little bit and than get them done.

20-30 bucks to get them done

    hope they look good :)
    it doesn't matter....

they put acrylics on so you could have them as short as you want

    usually $50
ill say like 30 dollers for that nails

    40 dollers for feet :)

I hear that white nail polish on them for a French manicure doesn't last long. What can I do to spiff it up?Can I make clear tip gel nails look more like a French manicure?
yes...u still can get the French manicure on any kind of tips ..and the French manicure polish is just as durable as the regular color nails polishes,it is white polish, tell them u want the paint on F/M (just dont get the airbrush)....next time if u prefer the French manicure...to make it easier for the non english speaker manicurist, just tell them u want the ';white'' tips...they'll understand u better.......!goodluck..

by the way u should come to my place..:)Can I make clear tip gel nails look more like a French manicure?
I think tou should go to a nail place and get your nails painted again but not the same place and the same color. It depends on what color your bottom color is(on what color you should get for the tip) You can also do a different shape for the tip. Try my idea. Thanks. Good luck!

it will just be the stuff they use on when they apply the top coat to gell nails when you get extensions
I used to work at a nail salon. I think you are talking about regualr polish + uv gel(instead of top coat) so it last long and wont chip. Usually it cost an extra 5 bucks

ok everytime i do my french manicures it always looks proffesinally done. what i use is actully really simple, dont buy a stupid kit! all you need is tape, so basically u just put the tape over your nails and leave a bit on top so you can fill it in with nailpolish! i use N.Y.C white nail polish, and when im done with the tops, i would really really recomend u get a coater, which is really inexpenisve, its like 2.00, i use sally hansen extra strength! People always ask were i do my nails and it surprises them when i tell them i do them myself!

p.s the coater is to make the nails look professional! For Girls only, has anyone succeeded in giving herself a french manicure?
my mom does it and she is really good at it...

but this is how she does it

she gets these tape and there curved....

fit for your nails and then you leave a lil bit at the top to paint them

    and then you coat them
I have and my sister has the trick is to have a steady hand if you got that your golden
i use tape regular tape all u do is put u base coat on then take the tape and put it across and then paint u white let it dry completely aand pull off and bam perfect home mani

Ladies: how do you prevent fungus from growing under your nails when you get a french tip manicure?

I just got my nails done for the first time, and i'm scared that i might get fungi underneath them.Ladies: how do you prevent fungus from growing under your nails when you get a french tip manicure?
White iodine - and keeping them dry after dishes/bathingLadies: how do you prevent fungus from growing under your nails when you get a french tip manicure?
I bleach mine, about a tablespoon of bleach in a big bowl of water. It doesn't eat the glue but it does clean them if you let them soak for about ten minutes. Some people do the same but instead of soaking they take a toothbrush and scrub under the fingernails.
I get manicures all the time. Should not be a problem. I go to a solon where I have my own instuments and they keep them sterile for me. Something to consider. But you should not have any problems :)
First of all, make sure you are going to a clean, reputable salon. Next keep hands dry. Go ahead and do your normal stuff, but limit the time your hands are in the water and make sure you dry them well when you wash dishes, shower, etc. If moisture gets trapped between your nail and the artificial tip, then fungus can develop.
I've never gotten any fungus under my nail either. But, you can try using nail brushes, add soap and brush underneath nails every night. Whenever you wash hands, make sure you focus underneathe nails as well.
ive gotten plenty on manicures and ive never had any fungus growing under my nails...i dont think you have anything to worry about!!

How much does a manicure cost?

My boyfriend just proposed to me with a beautiful diamond ring, and I wanted to go ahead and get a manicure before I go around showing if off later on this weekend. I ussually do my nails at home, so they look good...but I wanted to do something special. About how much do they cost? I'm not talking fancy-smancy stores here...just the usual nail salon. And are there any extras that they charge extra for - like, polish or anything like that? How much does a manicure cost?
Just 5USD here. How much does a manicure cost?
It's usually cheaper mon-wednesday. 15-30 bucks and you should bring your own polish. More sanitary. They usually charge extra for designs on all of your nails. For non acrylic tips, a manicure is usually about 8 bucks.
Hi... well I guess for a cheap one is like $12 and a really nice one at a spa is like $30
on average, 15-20 bucks... if you're actually getting nails it would be 20 and up. no they don't charge for polish, but it's extra for like french manicure which is the white tips but they're so elegant and they go with everything... girl you got a ring, so i would splurge 25 bucks on some nice nails to show that rock off... by the way congrats!!!
depends on where u live around here its 30 dollars and nail polish is included i would make an appointment so u dont have to wait and to make sure that u can get in
First off i would recommend that you check with your hair salon and see if they offer manicure service...they are usually cheaper and cleaner/safer...i would not recommend goin to just any nail salon because you can get nail fungus from them if the equipment is not properly cleaned....so your best bet would be a professional salon...the one where you get your hair cut probably does manicures too they are usually no more than 20 bucks....if ur hair stylist doesnt offer this there is most defintely one close that does
for a cute, nice %26amp; simple french manicure (white tips), starts at $22.00 ...Oh wow congratulations! That's beautiful... that you're engaged now, I wish you two the best of luck!

in india manicure costs 150 rupees.

better take appointment before you go.
I pay $35 for mine. Just go to local beauticians and pick up their brochures. And you almost always have to call ahead of time. Unless they don't get a lot of people in, then you can just walk in.

    Oh, and congratualtions! xoxo
It ranges from $10-30 in many cities. Polish is included. The only thing I've ever seen them charge extra for is a paraffin dip, which can cost another $10 or so. They dip your hands in special melted wax then usually put mittens on them for 10 minutes or so. It makes the hands really soft.

It's good to call in advance to inquire both about prices and about a particular appointment time.

How long does a manicure AND a pedicure take you?

Making a prom intinerary. Gotta know this stuff. How long does a manicure AND a pedicure take you?
Give yourself at least two hours. It varies depending on how busy the place is, how much they do when they do your mani/pedi, etc. If you're getting acrylic nails, those take much longer than just having your nails painted. I think you'll be safe with two hours - it's never taken me longer than that for anything. How long does a manicure AND a pedicure take you?
Depending on what you get, it can take about an hour. It also depends on who you get (who ever paints your nails, because some are more experienced than others) French manicures and pedicures take longer because they are harder to do, but I like them better than just plain old polish. I would give yourself about an hour at least to get everything done, maybe a little more depending on what you want. Have fun at prom!
It depends where you get it done.

Some places give really indepth foot massages when they it, others just do your toes and call it a day.

some places will do both at the same time.

You should really call the place you plan to do it at and ask.
    atleast an hour.

It varies widely depending on where you live. I've paid anywhere from $30 to $60 for a french mani pedi.

Of course, now I just do them myself. It's so much less drama. Learn to do them yourself and you won't ever need to pay.
30 for french w/ acrylics, usually 15 without.

    Hope this helps :)

http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-give鈥?/a>Is it possible to give myself a french tip manicure? How?
    Yes its easy.

There is kits you can buy.

I just do mine myself freehand

I paint the tips of my fingernails %26amp; toes nails white.

Then I get a cotton ear bud with nail polish remover on it to make the french tip neat so it looks like my nail

Then I paint over the top with clear nail polish.

    Easy
Oh, gosh... those are difficult! I suggest going (if you can afford it) to a manicurist, and just watch carefully how the professionals do it. Then, come back home, choose a quiet space with lots of room and get some nail-polish remover and try it!
of course, why dont you go into your local beauty shops and you can buy self french maicure sets they are really good and easy to folow. Boots chemist have the best one

Can anyone tell me how to remove my french manicure?

I had my nails done over a week ago. I have never had this done before i assumed they would start dropping off how do i remove them? Can anyone tell me how to remove my french manicure?
I am assuming you mean acryllic nails.

Go to Walgreens or Target and get yourself some artificial nail remover. It will tell you to soak your nails in it for a while. As you soak them, the artificial nails will soften. Be very careful removing the residue, though. If you pry it off of there too soon, you will remove several layers of your own fingernails, damaging them. It takes a three months or more to grow healthy ones again so take your time and ease the fake ones off carefully. Afterward, you may want to paint your nails with a nail strengthener to hide and repair any damage you may have done. Can anyone tell me how to remove my french manicure?
Did you just get the French by using the pink and white polish. If so just use nail polish remover. If you had acrylic or Porcelain you will have to go to a salon and have them either file them off, soak them off with solution then buff
u can go back to the salon becuz they have special chemicals that remove fake nails... otherwise you will have to be patient until they fall off by themselves

What is the easiest way to do a french manicure at home?

i always get these strips at walmart or target, you put them on your nail and it blocks the paint from getting any further than a small line and it's nice and neat too. Sally's Beauty supply would have them too.

Can I reuse the paraffin used in a manicure?

Hi guys, I know that in beauty salons it is mandatory to use new and clean paraffin for sanitary reasons. But what if you do yourself the treatment at home and you are the only person that uses it? I would like to know if it is possible to reuse the paraffin or if it is better to dispose of it and which is the reason behind that.

Thanks for your answers. Can I reuse the paraffin used in a manicure?
you can reuse it well at least I do(sometimes depends on my mood lol), and If your the only person then I think its fine....

How much should you tip for a manicure?

This manicure is at a spa, and it costs $45. For a regular manicure, I would normally tip $5. Because this manicure is more expensive, I'm not sure how much to tip.How much should you tip for a manicure?
Standard tipping etiquette is 15%.How much should you tip for a manicure?
I think 5$ would be fine.
    at least 20%
I think $5.00 is a very generous tip
When youre out at a restaurant, tipping a minimum of 15% is advisable. This is because servers make a serving wage of just about $2 in most states. However, when you get a manicure, especially at a nice spa, those people are making a nice hourly wage or salary. They get a percent of what your service costs plus an hourly wage. whatever you give that person in addition is generosity (although also sort of expected). $5 is plenty to give a manicurist for one service. Theyre not living off tips as restaurant servers are, therefore a 15-20% tip is a little much, unless you have that kind of money to throw around.
$5 is plenty I would say.
    nothing

your paying for a service and you should never tip, you become a slave when you tip

they can range from about 25-40 bucks.

but then again about every 2 or 3 weeks you havta shell out

another 20 bucks to get them filled

and they wreck your nails when you get them off.

if you have long nails i think youd be better off

painting it on.How much money is a french tip manicure? should I get one?
if you mean on ur reg. nails abou $13 if you mean with fake nails about $35. they are a great way to pamper ur self so yes esp. when u get a good grade or smthing like that
If you just get your nails painted French, it only costs me $8 total. A manicure included can cost you about $20, so just go in and ask to have your nails painted French only, no manicure.
For a manicure usually around 15 dollars. I would recommend it although it is a little more expensive it matches with everything and it really is just nicer looking.
if they just make your nails straight and paint the white tip with nail polish its 5-10 but if you want acrylics it is 30!!

yeah you should but you have to get it done every 2 weeks which is like 15 dollars
It depends. If you get acrylics they are like $30 with the tip, and if you get just a manicure it's around $20.
they cost around $15 to $20 dollars, usually.

or you could do it at home. Sephora has a lot of stuff for french manicures, they're not very expensive.
They are really pretty and classy!! Go for it!!

It really depends on the place, but most places do them for $20-$30.
    Usually from $20-$30

I've had like 4 sets of them. I like them alot, the only downside is.. when you take them off, your real nails are horrible.
Are you talking about getting acrylics with a french tip? Those are around $30, but it really depends on the salon. If you're just talking about getting them painted french tip, that'll run you about $15. I think they're really pretty.
it depends on where you go any wheres from like 40-100 bucks and it's sooooooo worth it, do it. :)
my mom used to get her nials done all the time

    and about 20-40 dollers
i live in louisiana and there about 15 dollars last long and look great
Its your choice. You can spend on what ever you want. It cost like a couple hundreds. I would think its depending on your credit score.
    you should

    depends on where

have one home..there the cheapest :=0)
It's usually like $5-7 more than a normal manicure...I love that look...goes w/ everything...I just do my own and save the cash.
    20 to 25 dollars
Do you want just the paint of the fake nails?

For just paint and a manicure, maybe $15-$18, for fake nails could be as much as $40.
i like them usally there 25dollars butit can very from20$-40$ but a 25dollars one is still food quality
It should be about 25 dollars..depending on where you go..and how much they do.

How do I get a lasting French manicure

I love French manicures and they look great when I do them, but the problem is, it takes forever to finish and for it to dry, and then it chips the next day. How can I do a French manicure that lasts? I can't afford to go to the salon. How do I get a lasting French manicure
for the drying problem you can go to any drug store or mass retailer and buy an aerisol spray to make it dry faster. or you can use pam. i think that the faster it sets the better staying power it has. also use an over coat like sally hanson. that brand has serveral great top coats that will protect your manicure! How do I get a lasting French manicure
be sure to put on a base and top coat

on the top coat: if its chipping from the end, then put a little of the clear to the edge of the nail and then a little under it,

then when u grab stuff they wont chip off cause theres some more polish there and since its clear, it'll look REALLY good and totally unnoticalbe,
I do my french manicures by myself and it lasts a week....

I would like to try a french manicure on my nails?

I usually just polish, but want something different while on vacation. Are the kits you can buy easy to use. and do they last as long as regular polish, without a lot of touch-ups?I would like to try a french manicure on my nails?
Yes. If you want it to last longer, be sure to put a 2 layers of top coat. Just a hint. If you want to touch up the white part on the run, buy one of those ';paint in a tube'; in white ( one with the thin point). Walmart carries them in the craft dept. It does wonders for a quick touch ups.I would like to try a french manicure on my nails?
My 15 year old daughter does her own and they look great!

They do last longer than regular polish because there's a nice durable top coat application.

She buys the Sally Hansen kits over the counter, there are many brands available.
its just a light pink nail polish, with white nail polish on the top.
just go to a salon so u dont mess up
yes i get them all the time
You can buy french kits from Sally Hansen. They sell white and silver color for tips and different shades of pinks and beiges. They include adhesive stencil tapes which can help you to paint on a straight line. But you have to wait for your nails to dry before sticking them on. You also need to wait for the tips to dry before removing the adhesive tapes. Lastly you will have to paint on a top coat. A proper manicure should be able to last about a week depending on your life style, pedi can last up to 2 weeks. If the colour comes off, I am afraid you can't ';touch up';, you will have to remove everything. So, need to have time if you wants to DIY. Classic french may look nice, glitter tips looks trendier. I am a freelance manicurist, feel free to drop questions.
you should just get them done for a long lasting while....but if you want a kit, there are many places where you can get them, such as target and those types. :)

for me it depends on if they did a good job.. if they were friendly ect. but usually i do 3-5 dollars. the end :]How much do you tip for a manicure?
    I generally tip $5.

10- 25% is considered good ettiquette, and since I don't get acrylics, it usually doesn't cost me more than 20 to get mine done. If they do a really good job, I tip more than $5, but I usually stick to that.

EDIT: I tip the manicurist if I have cash on me, right after she finishes. If not, I tip on the credit card receipt and make sure to write my girl's name on it.
    10%-15% its reasonable.
i never do. i go to in town nail places. i paid for the nails thats enough.
I ususally tip around 6 or 7 dollars, but it all depends how good my nails come out!
i usually pay 3-5 dollers depending on how they look

How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??

Well, I was a dama in this cotillian and I got a french manicure on my real nails, I really wanna take it off because it's bothering me.How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??
Nail polish remover/acetone.How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??
If it's polish, remove with a polish remover, acetone polish remover works best as it's stronger, just use a good hand cream oir moisturiser afterwards.

Acrylics/gels/waps...NEVER EVER PULL THEM OFF!! They completely ruin your nails when you rip the off, you're tearing off layers of your nail plate making them very thin, which may lead to permanent damage. Use acetone to soak them off or return to a salon to have them removed. I have seen nails that are paper thin, split, peel, nails that grow out with holes in them, all due to ripping off nail extensions. Don't be stupid, just soak them off.
If it's a french manicure with the ';glue-on'; nails you can soak your hands in water and it eventrually comes off ,or you can clip it off with a nail-trimmer. If it was a painted manicure just use nailpolish remover. Good luck! ^_^
is it just painted on? use nail polish remover.

if they're acrylics, you should probably go get them removed ($6) or find some acetone and soak your nails in them then scrape. then soak again and scrape some more. it's gonna be a pain in the butt and hurt a little if you do it yourself.
Use an Acetone nail polish remover. will come right off if its just polish. Most Nail Polish removers are Non Acetone, use the Acetone one. All the nail salons use it. You can get it at just about anywhere. Walmart sells it for like 2 bucks.
    i've done that before.

first soak them in hot water...multiple times, just so that there softer. you can take a nail file and thin it down of you can just pull tem off after that. It's up to you hun
There are a variety of different nail polish removers out there that you can order online or buy at a drugstore such as CVS or Walgreens. But if something like the smell bothers you then baby oil might work.
    nail polish remover..

    duh

    acrylics?PULL THEM OFF!
    Just use nail polish remover
I like the fingernail polish pads from wal-mart they inexpensive and work well.I just used them last night.

  • How to give yourself a faboulas manicure?

I want a good manicure to do myself at home and so I won't have to go to the nail salon with my friend twice a week. I like want to paint on like flowers and stuff and do french tips. How to give yourself a faboulas manicure?
For the french tips you can just paint white on about the top 3rd of your nail, then dip a q-tip in nail polish remover and shape the white.

As far as doing the designs, I used the end of a pencil to create dots and a REALLY fine brush (from Michaels crafts) to create lines. How to give yourself a faboulas manicure?
at sally's beauty supply (i don't know if you have this where u live) they have a special type of nail polish called stripe (more then one color) its a super thin polish brush so that you can make designs on your nails, also sometimes when i want to do something cool on my nails i use a toothpick and do cool designs with that it sounds weird but it works (kinda)
well, first of all, u need the proper materials:

clear coat, nail clipper, nail polish, polish remover, etc.

u always want to cut your nails to the right size, b4 putting on the polish

when you do get to that step, put on a clear coat first, put on the color(about 2 layers) and then clear coat again

i've done it b4, and it's turned out great!

    hope this helps! :)

What to wear when getting a manicure/pedicure done?

As a crossdresser, I maybe getting a manicure/pedicure done for the first time, going with friend of mine. What can I wear that is a girly, yet I can also get the mani/pediWhat to wear when getting a manicure/pedicure done?
i would wear some sandals and some short shorts but depending on wear you live then it may be cold and if that's the case then i would wear sandals and sweat pants i see girls getting pedicures and wearing sweat pants all the time its just something to wear its cold outside just because you are a crossdresser doesn't mean you have to be stupid and wear something that will end up getting you sick from the cold. flip flops would be good to show off your toes when your done but if you want to be girly then wear a dress and sandals but wear a dress that at least goes to your knees. please don't get sick from wearing a mini skirtWhat to wear when getting a manicure/pedicure done?
it doesnt matter because they should give you little sandals so your toes dont smudge, and a manicure, just make sure your hands are free..you can wear whatever you want ! =]
Sandals and capri pants- so they won't mess up your pedi.
    anything you want.

  • How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?

i had my nails done friday at a salon and they are already beginning to chip. any ideas? How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?
Yeah, like don't wet your hands at all for as long as you can. It happens to me too which is why I always give up and stop getting them cuz it gets expensive. I do dishes every day 2-3 times a day, bathe my daughters, shower myself, etc. so I think that's what does it. I use to wear gloves to try and make it last but the gloves are uncomfotable.

That's why I just paint my nails, it's weird though how your pedicure will last like a month. Go figure. Good luck! How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?
no french manicure lasts THAT long...but OPI makes a great top that should make it last for @ least 1week before chipping..
cover them with a think coat of clear polish
UMMM maybe put a clear coat on or even a few!! But If i was u I wouldn't go to that place anymore expeically if there already chipping!!
Try not to bump into anything...
My nails use to do that all the time. I got into the habit of putting clear nail polish over my manicured nails in the morning and at night. You can even carry it with you and put it on when you have a break in your day. It really helped me. The clear nail polish covers and protects the paint underneath, it also makes your nails look fresher and shinier all the time. Hope it helps :)
Sally Hansen has an acrylic clear coat that keeps nails from chipping. It really works if you follow the directions. Other than that, try to avoid submerging your hands in soapy water like when doing dishes or if you wash a car. Even with everything, french manicures chip REALLY easily. If the manicure is already chipping and you just had it done on Friday, I wouldn't go there again either.
Always keep a coat of clear nail polish over them. It would stop them from peeling
