I just had a french manicure which was $10 and I tipped the person $3 dollars. I know 15% is about $2 but would that have been too little? Also, the person gave me excellent service and I will be going there again in the future, but at the same time I don't want to give grossly excessive tips. Thanks! :)How much to tip for a manicure?

i think that it depends on the service that you receive and also if you were waiting for too long moght not earn them any tip from you. but i normally give them 2 dollars or 3 if they were careful.
$10 for a French manicure was a great deal. The $3 tip was 15% which is plenty.
Two dollars for a $10 dollar manicure is perfectly acceptable. In fact it is very generous. I usually tip 15% for everything unless I get extra special service. If you plan on going on a regular basis this $3 is too much. I use to have acrylic nails and went to the salon every two weeks for ten years. I always tipped 15% and at Christmas gave a gift. This is pretty standard.
5 usually
That was perfectly acceptable. Especially if you're going to be a repeat customer. =)
Over 20% give them them what you think they deserve for the service.
10%
$2-$3
i only give them 2-3, cuz if you think about it everything is
';fi dalla mor';
so they actually make a killing
$3 is actually a 30% tip. $1.50 is a 15% tip.
You can tip whatever you want. $10 for a french manicure with excellent service deserves an excellent tip.

How Can I Preserve a Manicure?
I like having my nails done, plus they need to look good because I now work in jewelry. But I have pretty weak nails that start shredding whenever they get long enough. I like acrylics, but they require a lot of upkeep and ruin your nails. I want to just get a manicure, but polish ALWAYS chips off of my nails. Is there anything I can ask my manicurist to do special that will preserve the manicure? How Can I Preserve a Manicure?
u should get some of those nail-refiner-pill-tablet-thingsHow Can I Preserve a Manicure?
There's nothing really... It will always happen because you pick up things, scrape them against surfaces etc.
But you could try a nail hardener for your weak nails.
You could go for a manicure every week in some places I know it's only 8 $.
Also you could keep your nails tidy at home by yourself, like trim and file them, remove the dirt under them etc.
~ :)
There is really nothing they can do but if every 2 to 3 days after you get it done u put a light clear coat on it will last for like ever i had this same problem but it works really well (make sure u make the clear coat light cause if you put it on heavily it will make them peel really fast!)
Acrylics kill your nails too true you are, and I have heard that they use the same stuff dentists use to fill your teeth! ... Anyway I would possibly get the gel nails, they move with you like your normal nails! :)

Can someone give me some good tips for doing your own manicure?
i want to give myself a french manicure but its too hard any ideas or tips PLEASE!!!???Can someone give me some good tips for doing your own manicure?
file your nails so theyre all the same length and a nice semi-round tip.
paint your nails with a base coat, let it dry then paint them with a nuetral light pink.
and for perfect white tips....
get some french manicure nail stickers.
they look sort of like horseshoes, and you just apply them to your finger so the tip part you want to be white is showing, then just paint over it. they work magnificently.. just dont take the sticker off until the paint is 100% dry! trust me lol
to buy them go to a beauty supply shop or even a supermarket MIGHT have them.
and after you get the tips paint over your nails with a quality top coat and viola :)Can someone give me some good tips for doing your own manicure?
Make sure you get a good brush- bourjois do a very good kind where it is angled so that you can do it perfectly. Oh and also, make sure you follow the natural curve of your nail - don't go making your own shape, just decide how thick you want it to be and follow it according to your own nail. Practice, practice, practice...It took me AGES to conquer it, but I am sure that you can too :D
The last french manicure the lady just slopped some white polish on the top and then she used a small sponge with nail polish remover and made a straight line it looked really nice..
As for the manicure, file your nails in one direction so they don't split then soak the nail in a mild detergent with warm water then push your cuticle back. scrub your nails and polish
i do my own manis and i find if u use acetone and try to find like a SMALL make up brush or small paint brush (i linked a pic of a brush that is similar to mine) it works best. dip the brush in the acetone and move your hand in a circular motion to shape it. hope this helps!
I have a really good manicure/pedicure set. Its really good. I got it from Walgreens. I can push it through the screen if u want!
sally hansen has these new nail art pens. i got mine at walgreens. if you get the white one it makes doing the tips much easier.
hope i helped!!
good luck. i hope you do well
