  • If you bite your nails can you get a French Manicure?

I've never gotten one before so I wouldn't know how it works. I've (so far) stopped biting my nails but I just want to know basically how it works. If you bite your nails can you get a French Manicure?
Yes you can get a manicure if you bite your nails. They don't out and actual nail on just a tip, put some jelly acrylic, dry, and file (the file hurts a bit and is sore for a day or two). Then paint and finish! If you bite your nails can you get a French Manicure?
Yeah, I bite my nails and I tried stopping to get my nails done. I got a French Manicure but it didn't look very good since my nails were still pretty short, fragile, and I would forget my nails are painted and start biting them. If you can really stop biting your nails then I say go for it.
    Yeah, but it looks worse.

A tip, I got a do it yourself french manicure kit at walmart for 7 bucks and it's just as good. Everyone asks me if I got them done professionally. It was a sally hanson kit.
yea you could if you stopped biting your nails and waiting until you see some of the white part of your nail you could get a french manicure :)

    Hope this helped

How long will it take me to get a french manicure (acrylic) at Walmart?

I want to go before I go to work, and this is my first time getting fake nails. how many minutes/hours do you suggest I should go so I don't end up late for work? Thank you.How long will it take me to get a french manicure (acrylic) at Walmart?
    about 30 to 45 minutes

Instead of the basic white tip ask them if they have a pearl tip and make sure they do solar nails because regular acrylic will turn yellow! How long will it take me to get a french manicure (acrylic) at Walmart?
i would say maybe about 30min.
Acrylics typically take 1 hour to have a full set put on. A fill normally takes 30-45 minutes. I would give yourself about an hour and a half just to be on the safe side. You never know if something may delay you (like having to get a nail fixed before you leave because you bumped it or something like that)

Will my cheap salon know what a half moon manicure is?

I go to a nail salon that is run mostly my people who speak English as a second language. I believe that they are Vietnamese. Will they know what I'm talking about if I ask for a half moon manicure?? Or will I sound crazy? Thanks! Will my cheap salon know what a half moon manicure is?

How much would it cost me to get a manicure and a pedicure..I want french tips. I dont want fakes nails.?

Prom is friday and I'm doing too many last minutes adjustments. Just thought I'd ask people online the price so I wouldn't have to go out to the salon without the right amount of money. How much would it cost me to get a manicure and a pedicure..I want french tips. I dont want fakes nails.?
The tips I got for graduation were $20, they were great. I bought fake toenails, but I think a pedi is about the same price. How much would it cost me to get a manicure and a pedicure..I want french tips. I dont want fakes nails.?
You are looking at spending about $35-$40 for both.
French manicure would be about $20-25.

Pedicure it depends on what style you want.
if your getting it on your natural nails.. i would say around $30-$40 for everything.. pedicure can usually range from 15-20 in a casual place (not a spa) and manicure can be from 10-20 as well.. hope that helps.. (dont forget tip)
it will cost about 20$ but it varies business to business

does that help? if not sorry
Depends on where you go. There is a lot of small places that you will probably end up spending $35.00 to $40.00. If you do to a nicer salon then the price will go up. Plan on spending at least $50.00.

Does anyone know where I can more info on manicure/pedicure stylist that make house calls?

My mother is handicap. She can't get out of house but she wants acrylic nails and a pedicure. I been looking all over the place but I'm not having any luck.Does anyone know where I can more info on manicure/pedicure stylist that make house calls?
If you Google mobile pedicures in (choose your area) or mobile acrylic nails (again choose your area) you should come up with a few.

If not, see if you can get some recommendations from friends, or pop into a salon and ask if any of their therapists make house calls. Some do in their own time, like I do. I work two days a week from home/mobile and two days a week in a salon.

HTH'sDoes anyone know where I can more info on manicure/pedicure stylist that make house calls?
It depends on where you live. I live in California, so there are mobile spas. Such as http://www.royalbeautyspa.com/Services.h鈥?/a>

If you don't have a mobile spa, try posting an ad online on craigslist.org??

What is your favorite color or kind of manicure?

send some pictures and for the best answer, ill pick the best that I agree on to.What is your favorite color or kind of manicure?
Just plain french tip. It goes with everything so you won't clash. And doesn't look trashy. I don't like them when they're really long either. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about but here's a picture.

http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto/Art鈥?/a>What is your favorite color or kind of manicure?
I am a girly-girl in every sense of the word, and I love manicures and pedicures.

In my opinion, the best ';kind'; of manicure to get is solar nails, as opposed to acrylic. They look more natural and they're more durable. And for those of you that tan or smoke, they tend to resist discoloration. I have heard that the term ';solar'; comes from the fact that the nails remain unaffected by tanning.

And of course, the shape I like best is ';Square-Square,'; as opposed to ';Square-Oval';(also called ';Squoval';) or ';Round.'; I like to go all out!

I have seen lots of nail art. I like the classic French look, and sometimes I like to go for a stripe of glitter at the base of the tip, or a nail or two with a more elaborate decoration.

But the cutest manicure I have seen to date is here:

    http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm179鈥?/a>

I usually like little crystal jewels, but I would prefer this polka dot manicure without them. Please note that I do not own this image. I did not create it, and all credit goes to its rightful owner. I simply stumbled upon it at random one day.

I hope this helps . . . and I hope you choose my answer!

You should call to make an appointment for a full set of tips. (You should know what type of tips you want) It could take an hour and you don't want to wait around for someone. You get there and they will ask you to pick a color, you say french ~OK~ but you have a choice... white on light pink (which I think is most common) and white on white, which I prefer. The choice is yours. Enjoy!
Ask for ';a full set of pink and white';. they don't chip, look like french and last a lot longer. they always look great.
    just say tat you want a'; full set with a french tip, please';

Who knows where I can get a beautiful manicure & pedicure?

I mean I really need my nails done!Who knows where I can get a beautiful manicure %26amp; pedicure?
MY SCHOOL IN LAS VEGASWho knows where I can get a beautiful manicure %26amp; pedicure?
Unless you are more specific about the state that you live in, a nail shop.
The best way to find a good place is through referrals - do you have any friends or acquaintances with nicely groomed nails? You can ask them where they go to get their nails done. Many states require a cosmetology or some sort of license in order to work in a nail salon, so check to make sure the person has one. If you decide to go by the trial and error route, ask for the person with the most experience in the salon. A good mani-pedi should take about 1-1/2 hours and you can expect to spend around $30, including tip.
Where do you live? Look in the yellow-pages.
    You could do it yourself
My old lady knows where one is.

Do you need long fingernails to get a manicure?

Some girls at my school get regular manicures, about once a week.

I'm wondering how their nials can stand up to so much abuse and if their nails really grow that fast to need reshaping again.Do you need long fingernails to get a manicure?
nopeDo you need long fingernails to get a manicure?
No you can get manicures at any length.

I get my nails done all the time. If you're trying to grow your nails out, then you should probably use a nail hardener or such to keep them from chipping and breaking.

But if you're trying to get fake nails,

again, you can have any length of nails.

But when you get them taken off, sometimes you're nails feel really weak and brittle for a few days. but it'll get better.
i get manicures once a week and it actually makes my nails feel stronger....most definatly NOT ABUSE!!!
no you don't any size works!
No, you don't need long nails to get a manicure. They take care of your cuticles %26amp; the rest of your hands too. Also, buffing is not bad for your nails, it just helps to reduce the ridges %26amp; make nail polish take better.
A manicure does much more than cut your nails. They take care of cuticles, reshape nails, remove/apply polish, get rid of ridges, etc.
Actually a weekly manicure is not abuse, its the best thing for your nails, daily abuse includes washing dishes typing and other everyday things you do. a weekly manicure hydrates and maintains the nail shape and texture and keeps cutiles maintained.

Soft, smooth and beautiful hands leave a lasting impression of your personality. Beautiful well-kept hands are an asset. A weekly manicure plays a vital role in achieving this.
If I had the time I would go every week for mani/pedi, its just a nice treat for you:)
    of cource not...

Here is a site with manicure info

    http://manicures.bestonlineinfo.co.uk/
    Directions for a French Manicure:

    * STEP 1: Clip, file and shape your nails. Tend to your cuticles, then wash and dry your nails completely. Apply the base/top coat and let it dry.

    * STEP 2: Peel off a guide strip and affix it below the tip of a nail, following its natural curve. The guide will allow you to paint an even white tip with ease and precision.

    * STEP 4: Decide where to place the guide strips based on the length of your nails. In general, the longer the nail, the longer the white tip should be. Make sure that the arch of the guide is smooth and rounded and that the tip lengths are all relatively consistent.

    * STEP 5: Paint each nail tip white, extending the brush stroke from the top of the guide to the end of the nail. Take care not to get any white polish on the body of the nail below the guide. Let the tips dry.

    * STEP 6: Remove all the guides. Dissolve leftover adhesive by rubbing it gently with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

    * STEP 7: Apply two coats of the neutral polish, letting the first coat dry before the second application. Finish with a thin layer of base/top coat.

What can I use as a guide on my nails to do a french manicure?

some thing that I can find at home like a bandaid is there something else I can use like that? What can I use as a guide on my nails to do a french manicure?
My aunt owns a nail salon in San Francisco and I saw her do this one time. She used tape, just regular home, plastic tape. She curves it around the edge of nail and paints the tip white. I'm sure it'll take time to perfect or have someone help you? It's the first time I've seen it done.

Or if you have a small eyelid brush that you don't want anymore...paint the tips white and forget about making it perfect. Pour a little nailpolish remover into the cap and dip the brush in and correct the nail tips to the shape you want. Probably best to have someone help you though. What can I use as a guide on my nails to do a french manicure?
They sell a little piece of tape that you placeon your nails and it guides you threw your fresh manicure, and it comes in different styles. but if u want something inexpensive try what I do I just follow my own nail pattern and they look great, to the point that some people ask me where I get my nails done..
Band-Aids are a good idea. You could use tape, I suppose, but depending on the kind it can leave residue on your nails. Anything that will stick to your nails to make a guide.
    clear tape...its helps a lot
They do sell french manicure guide strips thaey are qhite and you can buy them from walmart or or any retail store. But if you are looking for something from home then use some masking tap. Its cheap and works great!

How do you take off your french manicure nails?

i have a french manicure and the fake tips wont come off how do i get them off easy? How do you take off your french manicure nails?
    To purchase

    Cotton strips or cotton balls

    Foil

100% acetone (at walmart in the nail poilsh remover section, or sallys or somewhere like that)

    Toenail clippers

Zebra File or 180 Grit black file

    Small bowl of warm water

Set out an old newspaper or paper towel. Clip off as much of the free edge (the part that extends past your finger) of the false nail as you can. Take the file and file the nail surface lightly to take the shine off and allow the acetone to penetrate the nail easier.

Tear off 10 pieces of foil, one for each nail.

Take the cotton ball and soak it with acetone. Place it on top of the nail and then cover the nail and cotton ball with the foil. Once all nails are covered, place them in the warm water to speed up the process.

After 10-15 min, remove the foil and cotton balls. The cotton balls may stick to your nails a bit, so just pour some more acetone over it and ease it off. Using an old pen or pencap, scrape off the melted/dissolved acetone. Rinse and dry hands and file again. Repeat the process until all nails are off. Once all the acrylic is off, wash and dry hands again.

When the nails are all off, they will be a bit damaged. Use a program like nailtiques to help repair them. It comes with a daily polish, file and cuticle oil. A good link is below, but you can get it at walgreens too.How do you take off your french manicure nails?
Soak them in nail polish remover, they come off easily.
You can usually get them removed at the salon for under 10 dollars. I'd suggest going there. Fair warning though, your nails underneath are going to be completly ruined. You may want to reconsider removing them.
Few days ago someone I know got them done. We asked the person in the nail place how can one take them off. The guy there said dip you nails in acetone for 2 hours. Meaning if you have nail polish remover u need to leave you fingernails dip in them for 2 hours and they will come off. Or go to the store where u got them done and they will take them an hour to take them off. hope this helps.
Soak them in 100% acetone and they will wipe off.
put ur hands in freezing water if u put them on urself cuz they pop off but if professional they go to a nail salon
Go back to the location if possable where you got them %26amp; they should remove them for free. If not almost any nail place will do it for free if not a small fee......

Popping them off manually will tare up your natural nails %26amp; it will take a few months to recover from it, been there done that.
go back to where you got them done
Well i hope you didn't throw out the package they came in if you bought them and did it your self if you got it done at the salon you will have to back to the nail place and get them to remove it.
If It Is Polish Try Nail Polish Remover, If They Are Fake Nails, Go Back To Where Ever You Got It done.
Go back to the salon, they will do it 4 u
sock them in Luke worm water

Sexist to charge a man more for manicure than a woman?

My boyfriend and I just went to get manicures, and they charged him $3 more because he is a male. At first I didn't believe him so I looked at the price sheet and it said ';Manicure for Men: $15';. So isn't that sexist? Why should a man have to pay $3 more when he just got a clear coat of polish anyway?Sexist to charge a man more for manicure than a woman?
Is it sexist for men's haircuts to be cheaper than women's haircuts??

Its the double standard - It goes both ways.Sexist to charge a man more for manicure than a woman?
i dont think so! 1st its 3 dollars and 2nd mens nails are made differently and have a more rougher texture and its harder to make theirs look as nice as a girls and also most guys dont even worry about their nails so just be glad they even did his nails!! its not a big deal..so no i dont think its sexist!!
No, it's not sexist. Some salons charge a little more for men because men's nails are tougher to do. They're thicker (granted not all, but most). And they have a tendancy to be more beat up. It's not so much a charge because he has a penis as opposed to it's more work.
It does sound sexist. If both of you got the same thing or he got less, then its not really fair. Even if its only 3 dollars, its the principle of the situation.
maybe cause hes has man hands. and get serious- who really cares about three dollars
You could make the argument, but dry cleaners get us back for it. It usually costs more to launder a woman鈥檚 button-up shirt than a man鈥檚.
That's unusual, usually women pay more for hairstyling, dry cleaning and shoes even when it's almost the same thing, which isn't fair either.
It generally takes more work to get the man's fingers shaped and buffed since they are in rougher shape when they come in.

Also a man has larger hands then a woman so there is a size difference to consider.
    unfair
I could understand if they charged u more. Or if he was posting this. But, why would you care? It's 300 cents or just $3. It's not sexist. Is it sexist to charge more for womens underware then mens? I don't think so
    Hmm...

    That does sound rather sexist.

I would also post this question in Society and Culture to see what kind of answers you get and what others think..

What color should I choose for my manicure/pedicure?

    and french on the hands!

    Congrats on your future wedding.
    French Manicure/Pedicure.
Do a french which matches your skin tone, have a small tropical colored flower painted on towards the outside of your nails, just off center and touching both the white and pink. Then paint your toenails the same color as the flower.
French is the best! Especial for wedding!!!
French tips and maybe a soft pink
I would say matching french. It's classic and clean. Best of luck!!
    french tip or red!
i agree with everyone else, definitely french tips. congratulations!!!!

Is it possible to have maintain acrylic nails without using the drill during the manicure?

All most every nail salon uses drills to file b/c its fast, but when you actually go to cosmetology school you learn to do nails with files only. (well in Oklahoma you do) But there are salons that do acrylics with regular files and dont use drills, just expect to be there a little longer for a fill or new set, but it could be worth saving your real nails. Is it possible to have maintain acrylic nails without using the drill during the manicure?
Yes, but the nails still need to be filed and sometimes you can do just as much damage with the file as with the drill. What you need to do is to find someone who is willing to not drill too deep. That is the key so that your nails stay healthy underneath. Good luck.

  • Is it possible to do a french manicure on urself?

i keep trying to do a french manicure on my fingernails but it always turns out looking like crap, especially my left hand. need help!Is it possible to do a french manicure on urself?
of course it is possible to do it yourself, if you go to the store and get a kit to help you with the lines of the white, you can do a better job on your nails, I have been doing my own french since it cost too much to get it done for years except I do not need the kit since I am a manicurist for 15 yearsIs it possible to do a french manicure on urself?
well of course it's possible. if you're good at it, it will look good. otherwise, it will look bad, but you've still done it, haven't you?
Yes, Sally Hansen makes a french manicure kit that comes with everything you need. It also includes strips so that you can get the tips perfectly white.
yes but you should take classes on that in order for it to look good and you do it right plus you could get on career on that who knows!
yeah, at walmart they have these strips you put on your fingers and you paint white on top of it . Then you peel it off and do a natural pink on top of it.

the strips really help make the white on top relly neat.

    Good Luck!!
    It's possible, but not advisable.
Sometimes the stickers are hard to find, and tape works just as well

What is included when you ask for manicure?

when you go to a salon and ask for manicure service, how would they do to your nails? what is the difference btw a regular manicure and french manicure? does manicure mean putting fake nails? What is included when you ask for manicure?
A manicure is simply taking care of the natural nails. The service would consist of soaking the fingers, pushing back the cuticles, filing and shaping the nails, massaging the hands and forearms with lotion and painting the natural nail. A French Manicure is a term used for a painting process that leaves the tips white and the base of the nail a pale pink or beige color.

How do you use the french manicure guides correctly?

I've tried everything. I put the guide on my finger, push it down really hard so the nail polish doesn't go under, and it always does! I've tried taking the guides off while the nail polish is wet, when it's dry, etc. It never looks clean, crisp, professionally done. What is the SECRET?!How do you use the french manicure guides correctly?
I'm sorry...I don't used guides. I do my french manicures free hand! How do you use the french manicure guides correctly?
tough to do.....go freehand or spend the $$ and get it done......Professionals can never me matched!
You don't usually have to have a guide line for your french manicure it's more of a free hand thing. You can try one of two things. One, paint nails one day let stand with base coat over it and the next day buy guide lines for french manicure and do then and cover w/ top coat twice. Two, paint nails and before drying and ready made french manicure tip pieces and then add top coat twice.

Can you get a permanent french manicure without tips?

I've gotten the kind of permanent french that includes white tips and pink gel, but now I want to try gel nails without any tips. Is there a kind of permanent french that can be done with just gel or powder? By the way, I know that permanent french manicures are not really permanent, but where I live that's what they call it when the white tip is built into the nail rather then just painted on. There was a little confusion last time I tried asking this question. Thanks :)Can you get a permanent french manicure without tips?
Hi Honey, Sure you can, Its a bit more expensive as there is alot more work involved. Ask your nail technician for sculptured forever french! You can have this done with powder or gel, whichever you prefer. xCan you get a permanent french manicure without tips?
Yes.. you can do anything you wan too.. I tried the gell ones though before..BOY, did I regret it.. It tore up my nails so bad that when they were removed..it removed a real good chuck of layer from my nail and destroyed my own nails underneath.

HORRIBLE experience. Now I only do french tips on my own natural nail.
No if you don't have the pink and white it will just be clear and they will have to airbrush the white tips.

I'm thinking of getting a manicure at nails inc (they have departments in shops like Debehams %26amp; Selfridges), just the basic 拢15 one, I was wondering if anyone has had it, can they tell me how long it lasted?

OPI is so much better- the colour choice, the quality and they last longerHow long does a nails, inc. manicure last for?
It doesnt matter if a pro has done your nails for you, its only going to last as long as the nail polish does. I'd say about 3 days adn then it will chip. Its not worth it.

its a pretty good nail polish, i just suggest you do it yourself because its a buttload cheaper
Ones I do myself usually last about five days so a proffesional one should last about a week (as long as you don't bite them!)

What is typically included in a manicure (not with acrylics put on, but with your real nails.)?

I'm growing my nails out and it's almost time for Christmas. I want to get a manicure so they look nice, what is normally included? I know shaping the nail and color....but do they do anything w/ the cuticals and stuff? Do they hurt? What is typically included in a manicure (not with acrylics put on, but with your real nails.)?
they cut the cuticles or push them back, whatever u prefer. its healthier to just have them pushed back though. they massage lotion onto ur hands and remove old nailpolish. it doesnt hurt. What is typically included in a manicure (not with acrylics put on, but with your real nails.)?
When you get a manicure, along with the shaping and painting, they'll soak your hands to kill germs and soften the skin and cuticles. Then if you need your cuticles trimmed, they'll do that and clip any hangnails. They'll buff your nails and have you wash your hands to get rid of the dust. You should get a hand massage and that's your basic manicure besides the painting. Now if you pay for something like a spa manicure, there's more stuff like parafin wax.
They will remove old polish, soak your hands in warm water, push back/ cut your cuticles, finle your nails, rub lotion on, and polish your nails. It may vary slightly from salon to salon. Call first.

Im getting a pedicure and a manicure and I was debating on what type of nail polish to use?

I was thinking I am going to get ice blue nail polish for the toes. But I was wondering what kind of nail polish could I use for the nails other than ice blue but something that would look good with ice blue toes.Im getting a pedicure and a manicure and I was debating on what type of nail polish to use?
Pinks are very nice. Also what looks great is a french manicure except go with a pink tip instead of white and bubble gum for your nail color(the color is like a pale natural pink).I do nails and everyone has been wanting this style. Also a blue tip is pretty and will match your toes.Im getting a pedicure and a manicure and I was debating on what type of nail polish to use?
    A french manicure
Maybe a pinkish purple or mauve. answer mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

What is the appropriate age to get more vibrant colors during a manicure and pedicure?

Hi I just got back from the beauty parlor with my mom and I wanted this hot orange instead of the usual washed out pink or beige she makes me pick. She said I was too young and too many people would notice. What's WRONG with that! I love when people notice me (certain really cute male people!)What is the appropriate age to get more vibrant colors during a manicure and pedicure?
haha my mom use to do that too... I never really understood why she said I was ';too young'; for a certain color. Later I realized she would do anything just for me to stay close to her and not attract the attention of anybody.

Now I'm really tempted just to dye my hair hot pink. Take that mother! What is the appropriate age to get more vibrant colors during a manicure and pedicure?
Thats a cute question haha - I think it's really up to you. Why does color have to have an ';appropriate age';. If you're in a happy mood, for for something wild. If you're mellow then go for something natural. Vary it - age should never matter.
hmmm idk gurl i honestly dont think age matters, but i like my tips really brite like hot pink or orange with some rhinestones when i get a pedicure and just get a french manicure...its very cute! i love it lol and yea ur mom needs to chill lol well hope i helped
Your mom is way off -- i hope she doesn't get hot orange nails herself. When you enter the business world they won't let you have hot orange nails. Now is the time for hot orange nails to shine! Unfortunately you gotta do what your mom wants as long as she is paying the bill. This is not forever. Remember one day you will have to change her diapers and get to torture her and make her get hot orange nails when she is 80. A friend of mine makes her mom wear christmas ornaments in her ears and pushes her around the mall in a wheelchair that way. How awesome is that?
Maybe mom would compromise and let you have vibrant colors on your toe nails if you keep your fingernails the way she likes them??
nothing is worng with colors! orange is a way of expression! if your mom wants you to be some beauty queen, fine. but make your own choices in life, and you'll get far!!!!! plus-it's a great conversation striker for guys-lol! good luck
i really think that younger people are supposed to wear moer vibrant colors than when you are older. i would have told my mom that i want to just try it this time and if you approve when it is ON my fingernails then i can keep it. she shouldn't say that you are too young to wear an orange nail polish because younger people are supposed to have fun with their nail polish!
I think bright colors are more for younger girls anyway. Your mom mus t be a conservative woman. I let my 5 yr old have bright pink, green or blue nails I don't care she needs to have her own style so she's the boss. As long as it's not black she's too young for that.
I think its OK for you to where bright colors if you want to be notice your still kinda young u should not where pale colors all the time

How do i give myself a manicure?

A couple of time a year i go to a spa and get a manicure for a treat. In between manicures, how can I make my nails look almost as fabulous? :)How do i give myself a manicure?
To begin with remove all traces of your nail polish. Use as many cotton balls as needed.

Use a nail file or an emery board to shape your nails. File in one direction only. Do not use the seesaw motion. To shorten the nail, use the course side of the emery board first and finish with the finely textured side.

Work on your nails carefully and with respect. Do not go overboard with your manicure.

To check if your nails are well done run your nails over a pair of old pantyhose. Your nails should not snag the hose.

Apply cuticle remover cream and gently push back the cuticles using a cotton bud. Never cut your cuticles. Massage away dead skin using circular movements.

Apply hand lotion and massage your palm of your hand with the thumb of your other hand. This will improve blood circulation. Work your way all over your hand and repeat with your other hand.

Before you paint your nails, clean them with an orange stick that has been wrapped with cotton and dipped in nail polish remover and rub over the surface of the nail. Remove any creamy residue, if there is none then you can polish your nails.

While polishing your nails being in the center of your nail. Paint one stroke down the center and then the sides of the nail. You should paint a nail in three strokes. Let it dry completely before applying the second coat.

Apply color after your nails are completely dry. Use a base coat before applying nail polish. Then apply a color of your choice and do not apply a new coat before the previous one dries. You should apply three coats of color. After applying color apply topcoat and it will give added protection and help your nail color to last longer without chipping.

Store nail polish in the fridge. To prevent the cap from sticking apply a little vaseline around it.How do i give myself a manicure?
take some nail polish and put in on your toes-is it really that hard??

one way that i found makes french manicures last long is to apply a coat of clear polish every day to every other day. the clear kinda protects it betterHow can I make a french manicure last for a long time?
You could have a thin coat of gel put over your manicure, that'll last a long time. Alternatively just paint a clear coat over it every other day.
Orly has a product called ';bonder'; use it under your polish.
Get it painted on instead of airbrushed.

i want to get acrylic nails in october but what is the difference between acrylic airbrushed tip and acrylic french manicure tip? i want to get the one white the white tip.

What is the difference between acrylic airbrushed tip and acrylic french manicure tip?
I applied acrylic nails and after a week my nails started turning green, even though I was careful in making sure my nails were perfectly clean before I applied the acrlic ones. The green colour is fading to yellow after I removed the falsies

    I recomend getting gel nails

Gels and acrylics nails are similar because both can be used to extend the length of the nails and make them stronger and beautiful. One advantage of gels nails is that they are odorless unlike acrylic. Gels can also be applied over the natural nail or over artificial nail tips.

    hope i helped

    good luck-

You may take any shampoo. It is just to add lather to the water and clean your foot. The ammonia does the brightening job for your hands and feet. Make sure you rub your feet properly with a pumice stone to remove the dead skin and massage with cream and a scrub for min 5 min each.

  • Do you have to have fake nails for a french manicure?

My mom won't let me have fake nails. So I need to need to know. She won't because it ruins the real nail. Or at least thats what she said.Do you have to have fake nails for a french manicure?
No, you don't, you just have to have them long enough to paint the tipsDo you have to have fake nails for a french manicure?
As far as potentially ruining your real nails, your mother is correct. Having ';fake'; nails attached weakens the underlying natural nail - sometimes permanently.

That being said, you do not need fake nails to get a french manicure. I do not have fake nails and I sometimes get a french manicure. You just have to have your natural nails long enough for the manicurist to paint the tip.
Having fake nails are great because the French Manicure looks fantastic, and it's so easy to apply them. However, it really does ruin your real nails. Because of the glue, when you try to remove it, it scraps and destroys the nail. Anyways, you don't necessarily need to get fake nails to have a French Manicure. You can just paint them that way.

First, cute your nails to a decent length. You don't want them stubby short, and you don't want them to be disgustingly long. Next, you need to file them, to make them nice and smooth. Then, you need to push back your cuticles. Finally, you needa put on a base coat.

Next, after the base coat is dried, apply a soft pink nail polish. It's a good idea to apply a second coat.

Then, your going to need to have patience and time, because next, you hafta apply the white tip. It's not as hard as it seems. But if you only have a certain amount of time, and little patience, it's going to be hard. Get a WHITE nail polish. NOT CREAM!! Cream will come up too like and you'll be able to see it though the other nail polish. Start from the left corner of your nail, and work it going across.

Finally, after that's done drying, apply a top coat, to prevent it from chipping, and to keep it shiny and lasting long.

    Hope it helps ! :]

    x
Well some people believe the glue is good for your nails.

Cough Its just super glue so it does ruin your real nails.

Hell people just wear them for style!

Any who either grow out your nails alittle so they can have a little tip. They don't have to be long.

Or you can try ever last french nails although they are fake nails they aren't like the others. Just snap on a go!
You can pick up the nail polish kits @ Walmart or any drug store. you do have to have some length to your real nails to make it look right, but not a lot of length is needed.
I never use fake nails, If your nails are long enough buy a french manicure set that's what I use on my nails. Doesn't damage them %26amp; is cheaper that going to a professional %26amp; paying for fake nails.
No you can just paint them, however it'll probably chip off faster that's why some people think its better to do it with fake nails. But you can do them on your real nail.
lol no!!! fake nails are out anyway. and yes, they do ruin the real nail over time.
    Nooo

If you get french tips, most teens get them.

They take white polish over the tip of your nail.

No fakes needed, and its still a french.
no, you can paint them the way it is. i paint my nails french mainucure all da time n it looks real cute! ( i have short nails). gudd luck!
yes you can have fake nails 4 a french manicure. to make them look '; real'; i wouldnt have it to long
No. They can paint the white tips on your real nails. Doesn't last half as long though.
I just grow my nails out naturally.

They look great as long as you file your nails and try and keep them even.
no u can just paint them like that
no, didn't you just buy a set at walgreens?

Do you have to have long fingernails to have a manicure done?

I have a bad habit of picking my nails (I know, I need to stop!), and the last time I got a French manicure, it was not a pleasant experience to say the least. I've never had a regular manicure and was wondering, if my fingernails are very short, can I even have a manicure done?Do you have to have long fingernails to have a manicure done?
Yes, you can still have a manicure one, even with short nails. It would be preferable to have at least a little free edge of your natural nails showing, but they can work with what you have. If at all possible, try to let them grow out, even just a bit before going in for a manicure.Do you have to have long fingernails to have a manicure done?
Yes you can. In fact, it is a great way for you to stop picking. They take all of the dry skin off and really make them smooth. You should try to get one at least every 3-4 weeks. More often if needed.

How Much does a Manicure and Pedicure cost at Wal-Mart? (how much to they cost separately)?

Its mom day and i want to give her a pedicure because she wants one and a manicure! can you please tell me how much they cost separate like

    pedicure: blah

    manicure: blah

thanks! How Much does a Manicure and Pedicure cost at Wal-Mart? (how much to they cost separately)?
depending on where you live, each place charges separately. i wouldn't trust wal-mart to get it done though. pedicures tend to run for about $25-40, depending... and manicures around $15. try calling a few local beauty salons around and asking for prices, or check there websites. i hope this helps.

    *pedicure: $25-40

    manicure: $15

if you would rather giving it to her separately then buying the kits itself at wal-mart are around $15 for both.

umm yes u can..but it prob wont look that great because acrilics can mess up ur nailsCan i get a manicure right after the acrylics are taken off?
speaking from experience, i would wait about two weeks b/c your nails are so thin after theyre taken off and it hurts. some places will do it and some will say to wait
I just got my acrylics off about a week ago and my fingernails still look crappy. I would think that maybe you would have to wait but they might have something at the salon that would help them look better.

  • Has anyone tried those manicure pens before?

I'm referring to those 'pens' which contain white nail polish to enable you to paint the tips when doing a French manicure.

Are they more effective than using white nail polish straight from a regular bottle?Has anyone tried those manicure pens before?
yes they are good stop you from it all being messy x

beth xHas anyone tried those manicure pens before?
hey! i know what you're talking about.!

i actually have one of those.

they DO seem to work, but

just a little white polish comes out

    where as in regular bottles

its easier to get more wihte nailpolish at once.

i think the pens are more convinient to carry around

in a purse in case your french tips chip's .

then you can just fix it really quickly. :)
I was at a fair by my house and they used those pens in different colors to paint any picture you wanted on our nails. I had a flag on mine and it was really easy. I dont know about using it for a french tip though because it came out as a thin line, but thick..as in depth. I would use it for designs but i don tknow about french tips.
Yes, they actually do work. I was skeptical at first, but my sister bought one and i used it. It was quite easy too. All you need is a steady hand.
Yes it was easier to get a straight line but can be a little messy so be careful and take it slow
    Never even know they exist,

    But they probably will be.
yea they are a lot easier to use. i would suggest you get those.
    they suck
    yes and no

Could you be friends with a women that needed a manicure?

dump her fast....like a bad habit! do you really want to hang around with skanks??? sure she'll go on vacation, nasty nails and all. trailer park chic is nasty. i would never hang around with skanks who didn't apply their make-up perfectly! distance youself from this person before her bad habits and poor hygeine rub off on you.Could you be friends with a women that needed a manicure?
I agree with some of the others.....If it offends you soooo much, treat her to a manicure....in some places they're only like $4. It's something nice to do for your friend and at least it will subdue the monster of superficiality inside you for at least a week.
    u r superficial
Ohhh.... Puleezzzzzz... Certainly something to base a friendship on.
    What a dirty, dirty ******!

Nothing is more disgusting than that 'un-cared for' look!

And I don't even want to imagine what her toes look like!!*shudder*

Forget hints. Tell her straight up that her ragged, chipped nails make you want to puke, and if she no longer cares about her appearance, you cannot sacrifice your reputation for a friendship she obviously doesn't value, or she would spring $10 bucks and get one of those little asian women to do a manny! sheesh! some people! What a slag!

I enclosed a picture of my 'friend' Penelope, whom I dumped as my BFF, because she too, refused to care enough about my friendship to keep her nails tidy:(remember, airplanegirl suggested it)
    You're jokin' right?
Don' be so shallow! Offer to do them for her! Just cut them short and put a nice clear or light polish on them.
    it is gross to stare
No, that's totally immature that you've been friends with her for 15 years and all you can think about is her nails and how gross they might look.
OMG, like hurry up and cut her fingers off! :)
Could you be any more shallow? I would hate to have a so-called friend like you.
    This would work for me.

I have a habit of biting finger nails.

Love, may I have the 10 pts, I'm close to 1K?
How about you take her out to get a manicure-you could get one too if you wanted. It would be a nice thing to do. Plus, it would be fun.
that is the stupidest reason for dropping a friend i have yet to hear. if you are so concerned about it, treat her to a free one at a salon. I'm sure she would thank you for it.
umm yeah I sure would!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe her and I could hang out and chew our nails together?
god yes . there is nothing more unattractive than unpainted nails . just tell your friend that you hate to see her let her self go and that you are making a spa appt for two. hello like her husband is going to want to take some unkempt woman on vacation??? next thing you know she will be forsake her hair and stop shaving her legs to save cash.
I don't really notice a woman's nails. Its not because I'm too busy noticing other parts of their body, its just that something like fingernails are not that important unless they truly are disgusting. I know a lot of people that don't get manicures and have never had disgusting fingernails.
Are you serious? How shallow can you be?
    you plastic
Why don't you offer to do a manicure FOR her? Or pay for it yourself, if it so mightily offends you?

    Shallow.

What are the best ingredients to use for a manicure soak?

I am not sure I have used the correct terminolgy, but I would like to soak my fingers in something...anything to soften them. I work in elements that make them quite rough...and I am not the type to get manicures...any suggestions??What are the best ingredients to use for a manicure soak?
Since I am a server, I am going to give you a ';shingled roof'; (this ones on the house, get it?!lol) OK mix 1tsp. sugar and 1tsp. oil (tsp. means teaspoon), I like to use olive oil, but any oil will do, mix them in a bowl. Do this part over a sink or with a big bath towel folded in half. Rub onto your hands for 1-2 mins. rinse off with water only. Dab, do not rub water off hands.

Try this for about a week and it will work like a charm.

I went to a nail salon yesterday and got my nails done. The nail polish is fine but I don't know what the cuticles should look like. How do you know if you got a good manicure?

How do you remove fake nails like a french manicure?

i tried to just pick them off cause they've been on for about a month and are ready to go but it ended up being so sticky that it ripped off half of my nail and now im scared and dont know what i should do. i also heard that nail polish remover doesnt break up it up but i havent tried yet

Heeeeelp! How do you remove fake nails like a french manicure?
oh honey! you poor thing! I know how bad that hurts. Go to walmart and buy something called pure acetone. make sure it is 100 %. pour some in a glass bowl and soak your nails for 10 minutes at a time. After each 10 mins take them out and wipe off the now gelled acrylic. proceed to soak again and again until they come off completely. I worked in a nail salon, don't trust anyone that tells you different. good luck hun. all the bestHow do you remove fake nails like a french manicure?
Polish remover doesn't work. You will need to use pure acetone. Pour some in a glass bowl and soak your nails. You will only be able to do one hand at a time. Soak them for about 20 minutes, then using an orangewood stick scrape off the loosened product. Soak and scrape until it's all off. If you remove your hand from the acetone while soaking it will start to set up again so keep it in the acetone.

If your acrylic nails had a gel overlay then you will need to file the top of the nail to break the seal of the gel otherwise the acetone won't budge the product.

get a bowl and put nail polish remover in it then soak ur nails in them and they should come of and if not go to the place where u got ur nails done and ask them how you can get them off

  • Why does the white nail polish from a french manicure crack after a few days?

And what can I do in the future to prevent it?Why does the white nail polish from a french manicure crack after a few days?
When I get my nail done I refuse to haave them use paint. Call around and find someone who does frech tips w/o using the white nail polish, they can white acrylic. They cost more but you can longer without touch ups and refills. They look much better too.Why does the white nail polish from a french manicure crack after a few days?
easy! just put the white tips UNDER the sheer pink polish. that way, theres no more cracks!
because its only at the tips, and less polish you'll see the cracks more than others. it sucks, but just have then put an extra top coat on, and it will last longer.

    %26lt;3

    Alexis
i've had this happend at some places but not all....make sure they are spraying the tips first, then applying the all over coats and then, a top coat.

also, it just may be where you go.
tell them to put gloss covering or you can buy crackle it prevents crakles on nails.
put 3 coats of clear nail polish over it.
    Go to a better place.
It shouldn't, not if its done right. Are you doing this at home? then get a professional to do it.
YOU NEED TO PUT A TOP COAT ON EVERY OTHER NIGHT SO IT WILL STAY ON.

What is the difference between an American manicure and a French manicure?

With the French manicure, the end of the nail is painted white and the rest of the nail is natural. An American manicure is similar, but the white is softer and the rest of the nail is clear pink. What is the difference between an American manicure and a French manicure?
a french manicure uses a natural pink color on the whole nail %26amp; then a white ';stripe'; is applied near the tip of the nailWhat is the difference between an American manicure and a French manicure?
French manicure has the bright white tips, while the American maniure makes your fake nails look like regular old fingernails with clear polish on them.
A french manicure has a whitened strip at the tip of your fingernail and either a light pink or clear polish. A regular manicure (';American';) ends with just polish clear or colored.
French manicure has pink background nail polish and a strip of white polish at the tip.

American manicure can have a pink background nail polish and has no white nail polish strip.
American manicure is supposed to look like a very heathy natural nail a French manicure is with the tip painted white.
the American manicure is supposed to make your nails look like they are natural and healthy, and the french manicure is more noticeable that you went and got your nails done(they have a very white tip as opposed to the American that has a natural nail color to it).

Should I get acrylic nails or just a manicure?

My homecoming is next saturday (10/11) and I was wondering -- should I get acrylic nails (french manicured ones) or just a manicure. If you say ';just a manicure'; what color should I get my nails painted? My dress is cheetah print.Should I get acrylic nails or just a manicure?
manicure!!!!!and color idk (mabey color of dress)Should I get acrylic nails or just a manicure?
definately go for the add-on nails, but skip the acrylic and go for the gel or silk wrap or pink and whites, it's less stress on your nails and easier to get off when your done. A little more expensive but definately worth it. If you definately want you french to stay on make sure you ask for white tips instead of clear, that way there's no painting involved and you know the white won't go away.
acrylic nails are really nice, but they can be really pricey, so what i would suggest is going to your local wal-mart and getting a set of the plastic ones. there just as pretty and less then ten dollars! hope this helps!

    help me maybe?

Acrylic nails are beautiful, so I would suggest those. However, it does a lot of damage to your nails if you leave them on for lengthy periods of time, like several weeks, so if you get them, make sure not to leave them on for too long. Have fun at homecoming!

How do you do a perfect french manicure at home with no professional training?

Isn't that when the nails have white tips? Do your nails as you normally would, cut, shape, file. Soak in warm water and push the skin back, use a cuticle remover if necessary to remove the dead cuticle. Wash and dry again, using a steady hand paint a white tip on and let dry, then paint 2 clear topcoats over that.

I have done this before with various colors. My most favorite was black nails with red tips. It looked pretty awesome. How do you do a perfect french manicure at home with no professional training?
Sorry to say it but you dont. How do you do a perfect french manicure at home with no professional training?
walmart has the fake glue on ones or have a friend do it I tried it once hard to do the opposite hand,
u can buy them from pharmaprix, jean coutu, boots superdrug (dont know which country ur from). basically u go to the cosmetics section and you'll find a kit - clear, white and pink or beige nailpolish, with white stickers.

file ur nails, paint them with the pink varnish, let dry, then apply the nail guide stickers and paint with white on edges, let dry, remove stickers and paint clear top coat.

best time to do this is when u have a good book/magazine/tv programme to watch, so u can just sit in one place and not do too many things around the house and just let ur nails dry.
I used to do my own, but i found, buffing the nail to a high shine looks just the same! with no touch ups!

Ha! Good luck, I have tried this unsuccessfully many times at home, even with the Sally Hansen kits that come with the little stickers and everything. It is nearly impossible and very time consuming, and a french manicure at the salon isn't that expensive anyway if you don't have acrylics and need a fill and all that. If you must do it at home, make sure you have a steady hand and allow a lot of time for it to dry and make sure to put a top coat on it.

I don't know if this is how you do it but this is how I do it and it comes out great on your clean nail with the white nail polish brush from half the base out (it doesn't matter if its not even) once you have all ten toes or finger nails done and dry grab a hard brush dip it into nail polish remover and make the base even and thinner (as thinner as you want) once you are done with that you apply the clear nail polish let it dry re apply and let it dry and re apply once more (it will prevent it from peeling off believe me I do a lot of dishes) and that's that!

    hope it works for you

How much would it cost per month to maintain acrylic French tips ?How much to maintain a french manicure?
What you can do is get your french manicure, and then once they start growing out again, get them filled. Then when they start growing out again, get them removed AT THE SALON, and then get new ones to replace them.

Avoid breaking off your nails, because that is even more upkeep to take care of.

Open sodas with a spoon, or have someone else do it, stuff like that.

I would say 50-75$ a month, but it really depends on where you are going and what area you live in.

You can get little stickky guides, that help keep the line striaght, but ENSURE that your base coat is completely dry before you put the little strip on otherwise it tends to pull the base paint off, when you pull the sticker off.

You normally get the guides with the kits. How can i do a french manicure myself?
First do a line of white across the tips. It doesn't matter how messy you do it. It doesn't need to be straight. Then wipe across the line with a sponge or makeup brush dipped in nail polish remover. Cover with a coat of clear or sheer polish.
put tape on your finger tips so that there is a line to follow. paint the tips, its okay if you get paint on the tape. let it dry and peel off the tape, and then coat the nails in clear polish and you're done!

How do you do a homade manicure? What do you need to do it with?

I want to do a manicure. How? What do i need? How do you do a homade manicure? What do you need to do it with?
Manicure Tools needed: Nail polish remover, cotton balls, nail clipper and nail scissors, nail file, bowl, nail brush, cuticle clipper, , cuticle oil, hand cream, nail strengthener, clear nail polish, color nail polish

    At Home Manicure Tips:

    1. Start by taking off any remainder nail polish. Use cotton balls and nail polish remover. Nail polish remover can be very damaging to your nails, try to use a nail polish remover that is acetone free. Another option would be to use a salon brand nail polish remover, they work a lot better and remove the polish very easily.

    2. The next step is to shape your nails. If your nails are weak or damage it would be better to keep them short. Use a file for this step unless the nails are very short and you need to trim off a lot with scissors or clippers before. Remember to file your nails filing in one direction to prevent damage to your nails.

    3. Clean your nails with a nail brush and soak for a couple of minutes to soften your cuticles.

    4. Next take an orange stick with a tiny piece of cotton wrapped around it and push back cuticles. If you have hangnails or rugged cuticles, clip them with cuticle scissors. Massage cuticles with cuticle oil and apply hand cream.

    5. Use the nail polish remover one more time and remove any oil or lotion that may remain on your nails from the previous step. This will help your nail polish to stay longer and better.

    6. Apply a base coat or nail strengthener, depending on what you need. Never forget this step if you enjoy dark polishes, this will help prevent staining. For a simple look, you can stop now.

    7. Pick out your favorite color of nail color and apply two light coats.

    8. Last but not least, apply a clear nail polish or top coat to help make your at home manicure last longer.

    hope this helpss dude=] xxxxx

How do you do a homade manicure? What do you need to do it with?
you need: warm soapy water, a nail file, nail clippers, nail color, a clear top coat and some lotion. First you soak your nails in the water for about 1-2 min. then you dry and genlty push back the cuticles with a dry washcloth, then you clip your nails to the length you want and file the nail from the sides to the center. Then you paint your nails letting them dry completely finishing with the top coat. Last but not least you massage your hands with the lotion.

Buy a natural peach shade and a white. put tape over the bottom of ur nail paint it white let is sit and dry for a while then when it drys paint the bottom part pink. • Is it gay to get a manicure if you are a man?

I think my buddy is gay because he goes and then he get clear polish on them. If he is not gay, should I tell him that people will think he is because he gets a manicure? Is it gay to get a manicure if you are a man?
yes it is. unless you are black. black men will sometimes do this as a show of power/money. but generally speaking...any man other then a black popimp is probly gayIs it gay to get a manicure if you are a man?
I think you are being rude by calling someone ';gay'; just because they like to keep themselves clean-cut.

Guys get manicures before weddings ALL the time, and sometimes even without the wedding. I find it no problem at all and should not be seen as a sexual orientation.

    When you use the word ';gay'; is sounds like you are calling him a ';retard'; and I hate when people use the word gay to reference that someone is retarded or an idiot. Like ';Omg, that shirt is so gay!'; or ';You can't come to the movies with me? Wow you're gay.';

Lastly, who the hell cares what anyone else thinks?!?!?!?!?!
    no it isn't.

getting a regular manicure can help prevent fungus build-up. it can also help with splitting cuticles that bleed and become infected. everyone really should get manicures.

the clear polish, most likely, is an anti-fungal barrier that will also allow the nail to grow stronger.

nothing wrong with wanting to have nice hands.
well the whole nail polish thing is not needed if they are doing it right and buff his nails, so I would double check if he really has polish put on, but MINUS the polish why on earth do you have to think he is gay because he actually takes care of the one part of his body that says so much about him as a person.

For instance in this day and age you if lucky to get to the interview stage, you get ONE chance to make a good impression, so as you walk in the room hold out your hand for a firm [ish] hand shake and one guy has nubs with dirty nails and last weeks oil change still stuck under his nails and the other guy has manly but clean and smart nails which one would YOU pick.

To be honest a lot of females look at a mans hands, after all that might be what is touching them at some later date so hell no I would rather not risk having some delicate area torn up by hang nails and dirt going where it should not...........but hey if you think its ';gay'; maybe he has managed to work this all out for him self.
Well, the good ol boys from the country would probably say yes. But I grew up in the big city and both male and female professionals consider manicures a normal part of good grooming.

If you you live in the city and your buddy works with people then it's not likely people will think he's gay - just well groomed.
Oh yes, how utterly Gay! I know I always assume one is gay because they like clean, nice looking finger nails. Just as I must assume a guy is a real ';manly man'; if his nails are encrusted with grease and grime.

I think you will find many women like it when a man goes further then just showering and shaving, to take care of his appearance.
Well in my opinion it's not ';gay'; to get a manicure if your a man. But I have a family friend who is gay that gets manicures all the time. So maybe it is, or maybe it isn't. But yes, you should tell him.
Yes. It is your job from this day forward to make fun of him. Does he also shave his chest and/or legs? I'll bet he does.

There is nothing wrong w/ being gay, but something about metrosexuals drives me nuts.
No. But its very 'metro'. I get mani's and pedi's all the time. They make your fingers and toes look great. I don't put the clear polish on them though because it looks too glossy and unnatural.
No, getting a manicure when you're a guy is not gay. Not at all. I'd rather my guy to have nice clean nails then to have dirty scummy lookin' ones.
So looking nice and well kept is a gay quality...
A man with good nails is hot. It dosent make him gay maby meterosexual or something.
Many men get manicures. It doesn't mean you are gay. You are very narrow minded if you think so.
Yeah, that's pretty gay...not that there is anything wrong with being gay but it's definitely gay......
    looking nice is not gay

    maybe it relaxes him.
NO. Even Bernie Mac got manicures and he's not gay.
Leave him alone! He can get a manicure if he wants one. Treat it as a jokey, funny thing.
No, but thinking it's gay means you're ignorant.
It is not gay really do you want me to do yours just hit me up
No cause business men always have their nails and hands done
    yep

How can i stop myself from being tempted to peel off my manicure?

I will go to the nail place and get a manicure and pedicure, my pedicure can last for like 2 months! But yet I'm always tempted to peel off the polish on my nails. Because I pay money and its like throwing it away! Any tricks? How can i stop myself from being tempted to peel off my manicure?
After you get your nails done ask to have a couple of clear coats put on, when you try to peel it off it wont come off.How can i stop myself from being tempted to peel off my manicure?
Keep thinking, wow! i spent money on this...

if youur still tempted, wear something over youur hands...or hold onto a object, such as a baseball...

    hope it works!
when your at home, just wear gloves or something. but when your out, i don't know. you can always sit on your hands when your not using them.
ok i just had the cutest nails done and i ate them off! he ha ho lol welli used to soak them in alchahol so they taste bad when i try to bite them ! i hope it works !! bailey v. :)
Just try to remember that if you peel it off your nails will look like crap and there's all your money gone down the drain that you could have spent on something else
Think how how ungly your nails are and it will make you want to keep on the pretty manicure.
think how beautiful our nails are and how much you want everyone to see how beautiful they are. works for me
Everytime you catch yourself peeling it off that's one more thing you love that you can't have.
will power. just think if u keep doing it, your pretty much eating your money.
Spray them with Hair spray every morning! haha
putt something on it so if u start to pick it off it hurts
gloves. but i guess that defeats the whole purpose then. idk then. paint dollar signs on them! lol

How do I do a french manicure on my nails, to make it look like I got them done profesionaly?

i just want to know how to get the thick strip of white, or what ever color at the top to look nice. How do I do a french manicure on my nails, to make it look like I got them done profesionaly?
    buy a french manicure kit.5-10$ @ a drugstore.

they give you everything you need and it looks really nice.

kit includes white and pink polist, top coat, base coat, nail stickers, and nail tape to pain the white part.

it is WAYY too hard to freestyle your own tips especially when doing the hand you write with.

i dont know why people are recommending that. How do I do a french manicure on my nails, to make it look like I got them done profesionaly?
You can buy manicure sets at the Drugstore and places like that! :]

Or what my sister did to me once was she got masking tape and cut it the shape of the PINK part of her nail and stick it on, then you paint the white part of your nail whatever colour.

Once you have done that and let it dry, paint your pink part etc.

    Hope i helped x
cut a piece of tape to fit the curve of your nail, and then stick it to where you want the white to start to divide your nail. Then paint the top part white, wait until the nail polish is dried, peel off the tape and use a pinkish or white clearish coat to cover your whole nail.

    :]

    Good Luck!
    1. file, buff, etc. prep your nails

    2. paint nails with a sheer skin-toned polish

    3. let dry

    4. paint tips white (careful! take your time)

    5. let dry

    6. paint over with a clear top coat

    7. let dry completely :)
I do this all the time: Take masking tape, and cut strips, but curve the edge. Then stick it to your nail and paint white over the tape. It will make the line very straight and you have yourself a french manicure!
You can buy little sticker guides to stick on your nails from the drugstore or wherever.

I prefer the ones that are more curved rather than straight.
just gett them done at a salon its nott expensive only 25 forr toes and nails

Can i get a french manicure at the salon without long finger nails?

i have had acrylic nails for about 5 years straight. so im trying to stop that. since my nails are so thin and breaking constantly can i still get the french manicure painted on? Some nails are longer than others and actually have length. Can i get a french manicure at the salon without long finger nails?
Yes, but the white tip of the manicure will be thin. They might file your nails so they are all the same length as the shortest one too.Can i get a french manicure at the salon without long finger nails?
    yes
Sure! But hopefully there not MAJOR short. cause one time i cut mine real short before i went %26amp; it made it sorta hard for the lady to do.
of course. just tell them you want them painted! not a full set!
    yes you can :)

How much does a french manicure cost?

I live in a city area, and there are alot of nail/hair salons here. i only want my nails to be done. How much would it generally cost? How much does a french manicure cost?
Hmm, a French manicure, huh? You really need to call around some beauticians in your area.

Better yet, I recall plusrecipes.com having a beautician section where they offer great deals, like free estimates from local ';beauticians'; in your area--heck right now one ad-link says you could save something like 50% through competitive bidding or something like that--here's the link:

Yeah, so call around or use the above link. I hope this is helpful. Good luck! How much does a french manicure cost?
the general price if you are getting just a manicure $12 then $3-$5 additional for french. If you want acrylics a full set runs $25 refills $15 plus the same for the french. Call around and ask =)
    Depends on where you go.

Try to find a ';chinatown'; area in your city, they're generally cheaper and pay more attention to detail there.

    Acceptable price range: 18-40$
It depends on where you go, the cheapest I've seen is 15 but some other places are more expensive, I don't think it should be anymore than 30$. Good Luck!
Manni: $7 for air brush which is just as good as real nail polish

    $20 for nail polish

Can I get a French manicure without having to get acrylic nails or fake nails? ?

I just want my nails painted with the neutral color and the white tips. They aren't super long, but they're not short either. Will nail stylists do that? If they do, how much does it cost? Sunday is my 18th and I want them to be super cute! Can I get a French manicure without having to get acrylic nails or fake nails? ?
Absolutely ! They will give you a manicure and then

use one of a variety of available pink and also white (or off-white) polish.

You should have a top coat at home to apply everyother day to help the polish last as long as possible and of course apply a quality nail oil every night.

Please choose a clean nail salon/ nail technician. If you need info on how to know for sure let me know.
